  • What's Ramuh's population like?

I recently came back to FFXI a couple days ago. I started from scratch, now I wish I hadn't because I bought the xbox360 package and linked my gamer tag. I all ready registered my expansions with that account and can't merge or switch my accounts so I can't play my old characters.

Anyway, I got assigned to Lakshmi and during the day (I'm on US central timezone) no one is on. I'm looking for a server that's going to have people on all day and night, not just during peak times. The reason is that EVERYTHING in this game requires a group and I don't want to waste my time developing a character on a server that I won't be able to find a group on, due to low population.

Last time I noticed/checked. Peak server population topped over 4180 people on Ramuh, the population floats above 2k most of the time.

Thanks for the info. I guess none of the servers are as populated as they used to be. I had a character on Caitsith and another on Bahamut. This stinks. I wanna play, but the last time I check in Valkurm on Lakshmi there were 2 groups in my lvl range.

Well... Ramuh's population has always hovered around the 2000-3000 mark during non peak times. Sometimes it does drop below 2000 though and that makes it a great time to go HELMing or hunt NMs.

On the other hand, I have seen it peak at about 4400 people before. That was just crazy. I ended up logging off because I couldn't harvest in peace without some tarutaru popping out of the bushes.

Sometimes you hit times where there aren't enough people to party with. You just have to either wait for awhile until there is enough people, or go do something else. I think you'll find the same situation on all the older servers as their population "ages".

What about newer servers? Are there any servers left that are packed with people like Bahamut and Caitsith used to be?

            That I can't answer.

However... there does seem to be a forum on this site that is for cross-server discussions. Posting on that might give you a better feel of what server you'll like. I'm new here myself and still learning my way around, so don't trust everything I say is right.
