the lvl 10~20 areas arent so much deserted in Laviathan They are actually sometimes packed with parties. And EVERY party in Valkrum Dunes has a PL.
im not saying that it is bad to have a PL but people these days cant do anything without their PL and it gets kinda annoying

Well the dunes werent working for me. A party i assembled of a WAR/MNK, MNK,WAR, BLK/WHM, WHM,BLK and me as a RDM couldnty even kill the hill lizards. Dont ask me why the jobs look similar, they were the only ones around my level. I enfeebled and healed but they did so much damage and apparently there is nothing lower to kill.

I ended up going to west raunfare where i got to san to upgrade armor and weapons and tried to head back and died and dropped to lvl9 before i gave up trying to level. So i decided to stay in west raunfare and solo at the southern part of the map. Oh man did i play for hours and get from lvl9 to lvl12 in no time and now im 1/3 to lvl13 before i got tired and slept.

I find it so much easier to kill the easy fiends for 30 each then decent fiends for 40exp and have to heal after. Im gaining exp pretty quickly from my past expierence being in parties and such, i remember it taking me 5 days to get from 10-14 back in the dunes last time i played because i played a few hours a day and we always tended to heal after every battle.

If you're party set up like that couldn't kill the hill lizards something is horribly wrong. Hell, you can kill hill lizards with a level 9 party with the right set up. But yeah, I usually just level solo to at least 13 nowadays so I can go straight to clippers or gobs.

My suggestions would be to solo mobs in LT or KH with your LFP flag up. That way you'll be making productive use of your waiting time. The sooner you make it past the dunes, the better.
