Re: A look at possible future events in vana'diel?

Actually, if it isnt obvious by now, SE had the entire story-board worked out long before RoZ was even released in Japan. It's so obvious how everything just melds together so harmoniously, it can't just be coincidence. I'm gonna study those screenshots, but yeah, that's a good indication of what'll be in the game.

They do not, however, show any notion or indications of other nations. . . But then again, We only exist on a few continents on an entire planet, and just like the Europeans believed themselves to be the center of the world before they did some exploring, it is possible that this game will never cease to expand until there is no story left to tell. But then again. . . It is likely that the Age of Adventurers will merely transform into something else.

SE has a good thing going in this game, I'm very impressed.

Also, keep in mind the names used for places we refer to, even today:

America and Europe are commonly called the "Western World"
The Saudi Arabian area is refered to as the "Middle East"
Asia is refered to as "Far East"

All this stems from the ideology that Europe was the center of the world.

Personally, I think that we are kinda easternish to Asia, but w/e, it's how the world is perceived

So point is, even in ToA, they are refering to the "Far East" lands. . . so I expect this game to blow up in the next few years.

And I'm going to have to buy two versions of the game since I have it on PS2 and PC ._. It better not be more than 20 dollars, or I'm going to have to stab someone. . .

You mentioned an intresting point. How much longer do you think that game can last strong and solid? I know we are a new expansion around the corner but given that, how much do you think SE and keep this game fresh?

Long after the famous Hume explorer Bastok De Gama discovers that if he sails west from the Tavnazian Archipilago, he'll come upon a new world, not the "Far East"

Then all the nations will fight over rights to this new land, resulting in more wars, resulting in that land gaining it's own independence, resulting in it making Sandy, Windy and Jeuno their bitches.

Just a hunch. I really enjoy History class, can't you tell?

mmmm I just realized that the theory that Zilart and COP and ToA were written alltogether before the game was realeazed my be true. In fact, if I am not mistaken evidence was there long before even COP was releazed here is my theory.

I started playing FFXI on the USA launch day, our FFXI came with Zilart included, unfortunatley I did not reach the Hall of Gods or sky untill i had CoP installed. But I AM ALMOST sure that the Hall of Gods was there even before CoP right? If that is the case.... then Promathia was already there as a statue correct!!!???

of course he was. He is the God of destruction, in direct opposition to Altana. For all intensive purposes, they are equally the same age.

Alot of the story was though out long before the expansions. The openning FMV shows Tavnazia (sp?) . SE have said in interview it was always planned that it would be added in expansions.

Planning things out like that makes them actually seem like party of the world, and not just extras bolted on later.

If you play through the NPC quests now they lead you stories of Aht Urgan.

To add onto what Kafeen said FFXI has been planned out way before release. They just needed to do some Tweeking. Also The Tavnazian archipelago is still not "open" per say. We still need to retake the Blueblade fell...something to think about.

There are also ALOT of "locked" doors throught the world.

I see, but back then I bet nobody knew that Promathia was actually one of the statues in the Hall of Gods... i must admit, SE always has some impressive stories.

So you are saying that there is still much much more to be unlocked? For example.. what aobut the areas in norg and khazam tha we cant yet access....

Adding to the matter.. how much years do you think this game has left?

FFXi will be here for years. 4 year anniversary is soon , At least for me anyway. Its the Only MMO I've consistently stuck with over the course of that time.
Basically from me alone SE has made over $600 in just susbcription.

I was here for the first 2, took a 1 1/2 year break, and now I'm back. This is the only MMO that has been able to keep my attention and present a challenge.
