What next?

hi cait-sithians,
im relativley new to this game, im a lvl 10 thief from bastok,
and so far ive spent my time leveling by taking out the quadavs,
collecting crystals to sell at the auction house, then bought some nice leather armour, and now im a bit stumped as to the next big move i should take...
can someone mabey give me some advice as to what theyd do next to advance in the game?

This seems more like a general question so I'll try to answer as best as I can.

Anything you want.

What goals do you have? Do you need more gil? Do you like the storyline and want to see more?

Some people decide at around this level to try and accomplish Missions, especially those from 1-1 to 2-2. 2-3 will require some help and most people will help if they have some level 25 jobs. (Mission is capped at level 25)

It seems like you have not stepped into Valkurm Dunes nor Buburimu Pennisula yet. Along with Korroloka Tunnel, which happens to be good leveling spots for level 11-19.

Also, at level 17 or 18 (I forget) you will need to gather 3 items for your sub job quest. Sub job quest can be started in either Mhaura or Selbina, and depending on each, you'll need to gather items from different sides. Remember if you take the Ferry, try to stay below deck, as some monsters i.e. Sea Monk will kill you in 1 hit.

Otherwise, enjoy yourself, try to talk with some people and make friends, {Party} {Do you need it?}

Yeah like omniblast said, first figure out what you want to do and then pursue that. As a general thing i would recommend doing some crafting as you are getting a lot of crystals and most, if not all, low lvl crafting can pretty much be done with materials you find off the mobs, depending on what craft you want to do.

Another thing to do is research. Sure everyone tends to be nice and just give you an answer, but if you research your own stuff a lot of times you will find out stuff that you didnt know before and potentially would have asked about later. There is a ton of info out on the web, this game is deep and rich and sometimes a little overcomplicated, but overall very rewarding as well Stick with it, this game requires a lot of patience, but it is worth the wait. thanks guys, i appreciate the help, i wasent sure what to do because the game is so overwhelming, especially when you start, so ill join a party, and focus mabey on changing jobs

my characters name is Infinitii , i look like my avatar -- youll probably find me bashing some amethist quadav or selling something at the auction house.. gaining levels is important to me but not too fast, because i dont wanna end up to o high to quick, i wanna enjoy this game, cuz its got more atmosphere then world of warcraft witch i was playing for a few months before this.. if ur online at the same time id gladly take the help thanx

As your fighting quadav I gather you started in bastok.

At lvl 10 head to Konschat Highlands and fight strolling saplings and if you can Hill lizards, steer clear of Goblin ambushers, butchers and tinkerers., but if you keep to the moun tain pass's you should be ok for a couple of levels. As mentioned head to the Dunes where you can go into an exp party to lvl up.

Other area to leval a few is in Dangruf wadi (just off south Gustaberg) you can also complete mission 1-2 here. For mission info go here.

At 18 go to selbina (just off dunes) to activate sub-job quest info on this is found here

This enables you to have 2 jobs which helps boost stats and provides support to your main job.

I would advise talking to Karin a map seller in bastok markets and buy map of sandoria area (about 200gil) this includes the map of Valkrum Dunes and selbina.

As the above posters have said, the best place to level would be Valkurm Dunes or Buburimu Pennisula to form a party with others of your level. Also, a good suggestion from Jarre has said, you could kill some sapplings and lizards to pass the time waiting for a party.

You'll find a lot of people are in your situation at about this time. If you haven't already gotten into a Linkshell I suggest maybe getting together some new adventures like yourself that you see around and form a Linkshell together. That way you can all explore together and help one another out with missions and quests.

If you need help with anything, you can always look me up. I'm more than willing to help out new and old players alike. This does not mean that I will DO the quests/missions for you or hand out gil but rather guide you and help you help yourself and possibly others.
