I've claimed LL twice in 10 minutes before. It can literally pop back to back but it's pretty rare. There's no real way to force it to happen though. You just have to keep killing everything until she pops.
There's only one or two real placeholders, killing everything only hurts those looking for said place holders as it messes up the Wide Scan tracking somewhat. If you can keep track of the Placeholders, you can have a better idea of when the next lizard will spawn and increase your chances of getting lizzy. But this is all off topic anyway.
While many people do suck, not everyone does. I've seen many people help for the sake of helping, even on highly desired items, myself included. You just gotta learn how to judge people better. Sadly more often then not people will be back stabbing asshats, which is even more reason why we don't need any more of them. While you should learn to be wary of who you trust, don't ever become like them just to spite them.

Yeah, I try to use that method when I camp. Someone else usually shows up and screws with it though so I just start killing everything. lol
3 claims last night between 12am-3:30am...no drops...TH1 sucks.
One of my ls peeps keeps trying to get his MNK Kotes from Ostroza and he would most definently agree with you. I think he's like 0/9.

i haven't gotten either of the Castle Oz drops yet, I think it's much harder to get claim there being its so small...only takes like 2 ppl to cover the entire area >.>
i walked through Oz as low-level (i forget why) and Quu Domi popped right in front of me, but there was no way I was taking him as my whm...i haven't seen him pop since
Me and an ls friend tried camping lizzy for over 8 hours one night...got three claims (there were like 3 other people camping) and no drops. Since the drop rate is so pathetic we've been looking to do the BCNMs that drop it. Out of curiosity, are the BCNMs easier than camping Lizzy? If so, which one do people agree is the "easiest"?

The BCNM drop rate is just as bad as the NM's drop rate, though I don't know how hard it is to beat.
However, I will say this. For every 0/10 and 0/20 person, there's a 1/1 and 1/2 person. Luck is sadly just that, luck. All TH does is make more things drop, but it's still nothing more then a slightly improved chance. Though one thing you should make sure happens is that the one person with the highest TH should get at least one hit in. TH doesn't work if the one who has it has no enmity on the mob.

finally got my bounding boots last night on first claim...nobody was around except for a dnc8, he was killing saplings/vultures...i'm killing lizzies left and right with no pop for over an hour...he gives me a tell, it popped so far east I couldn't believe it...got the boots first try and dropped him 25k for the tip^^
As far as LL spawn conditions, the theory I heard that seemed to get the most traction based on the reports was that there are two different potential instances of Leaping Lizzy that spawn off of two different PHs (someone verified with some memory address tool that more than one exists in the zone list, IIRC), with the only limitation being that they can't both spawn at the same time. I'm pretty sure I've never heard a report of LL spawning within a few minutes of the last time it spawned more than once in a row...
I'll note that most of my successful claims/kills on LL while going after my boots were based on tracking and killing the specific 2 RLs identified as supposed PHs (the 5th lizard in two specific sets of 5 in the list) and timing Wide Scans based on the respawn timer, though I didn't camp it long enough to verify cycles for separate instances.
Most of the detailed reports are on Alla and need to be taken with a grain of salt, but the theories have held out for my own camping of LL and VE at least. It'd be nice to actually measure this under more controlled circumstances, but that'd probably require a lot more cooperation from those camping LL than we tend to assume is possible.
Edit: On the point mentioned above for messing up the PH method, if you can hold the lizards you fight for a few minutes at a time, it's not that hard to find and track the PH; spam wide scan until a few more lizards pop. If another lizard ever pops below yours, track it, find out when it dies, and time your next scan/claim around it. If a lizard never pops below yours in the list, yours is the PH. Since the PH respawn is always exactly 5 minutes, and the PH is always at the bottom of its section when it spawns, it's fairly easy to track once you have it in the first place.
Edit 2: Well, there would of course be a simple enough way to at least help test the PH method on one's own. Track a lizard that isn't supposed to be the PH as if it were the PH, and see if you ever manage to make LL spawn off of that one specifically. The lizards at the top of their sections would be obvious choices, for similar ease of tracking as the actual PHs. I suppose as far as the 2 LLs notion, to test that you'd simply have to see if you could camp only one PH and ever get LL to spawn in rapid succession off a single PH. That's an awful lot of camping for a scenario where the expected result is not to get the NM, but... *shrug*
