  • Who's Who on Bahamut

Since we don't have a thread like this here, I figured it would be ok. I'm hoping that we get a few folks over the next couple of weeks and maybe get some traffic up in here, but since the Alla Bahamut forums were already pretty dead (most folks use BlueGartr's forums it seems), I dunno!

Anyway, just in case, I'll introduce myself:

    Name: Aelathir

Race/Nation: Elvaan/San d'Oria (holla? but not like the crag of Holla - or you know, maybe exactly like it if that's what works for you)

About Me: I feel like I'm repeating myself a lot (here, LJ, other forums, etc.), but that's the way it goes, I guess. Anyway, I've been playing FFXI for some time, despite what my low job levels might say. I started out on the Seraph server back in early 2004, right before the NA PS2 launch. I made a lot of friends, had a great time, and generally just really immersed myself in the game. But near the end of that year I started to get antsy, and after some RL friends quit, I too jumped ship for a while.

I played WoW and EQ2 for a bit (nearly a year), before I started missing Vana'diel. I came back to Seraph and played for a few months, but because all of my friends who stuck around were all level Uber+, they didn't really have much time to hang out with little old me. I spent a couple of months trying desperatly to catch up to them, but I burnt myself out in the process and November of 2005 found me cancelling my account once again (and in the process misplacing my reg codes and disks )

Anyway, a few months go by, and I start to miss FFXI again. I realize that I'll be much better of if I just start fresh without worrying so much about catching up to everyone else. So I picked up a copy of the Vana'diel collection, and let the game place me where it pleased. I ended up here on Bahamut, and so far I really like it! Anyway, I'm taking things slow, because I don't really know anybody, and I've been fishing up a storm to get the gil I need to level. I'm really glad to be back in the game, and I'm looking forward to meeting my fellow Bahamut players!

Sorry for rambling on. If you care to, post your info here as well. Please don't feel that you have to go on as much as I did. I'm just chatty!

Hello. My name is Farasi and I'm an FFXI-aholic.

Okay, that's about all I'll admit to. Oh oh, I'm on Bahamut and apparently I'm raising RDM these days.

Heh, fair enough. I recognize you from Alla, of course. Nice Sister Wendy avatar.

She's me heeee-ro. Cranky, crabby, and more than willing to beat the love of God into you.

Alla bugs me a little lately, but I imagine it'll join the ranks of cookie-cutter corporate sites and settle down soon enough. Smaller communities are more personable and fun.

Are you personable and fun? ARE YOU?!? Hold out your hand...the Holy Ruler of Retribution beckons you... (kidding)

I dunno. I went to Catholic shool. I'm not sure I can resist a command from a nun!

EDIT (so that I'm not just spamming this place up): Yes, I agree Re: Small communities. I like knowing a lot of the folks I chat with. That can be hard to do when there are thousands of people posting every day.

I started on PSO, RO, and AO.
I always wanted to play FFXI and last December I finally picked it up and didn't really get hooked until February. I'm still new, but our LS Stormcleaver is pretty friendly and we have a lot of people who have made me get into it even more.

So go ahead and give me a /tell if you want, the more friends the merrier :3

                Re: Who's Who on Bahamut

Arson: DRG is one of my all-time favorite FFXI jobs. I've just never had a chance to level it as far as I'd like (I'm determined to remedy that this go round though). Nice to meet you!

Ululani - I'll be sure to look for your character online and send you a /wave.^^

                  Hello, hello, hello, and hello.

I'm wha'cha might call an oldie on the game. Been there/done that/never wanna do it again. Unless there's pie involved, of course.

Heh, I think it's just that I obsessively seek out FFXI related journals, especially when they are on my own server.^^

I have not seen this Lj. But I'm sure y'all haven't seen mine, either. Which is cool cuz it's got nothin ta do with FFXI.

Hrm. Just realized it's before 9am and I haven't had a full cup of coffee yet.

I read a few posts and I don't think I quite absorbed them all. I was thinking about what my char model would look like in an RDM pimp hat. Got it to 37 last night...almost 38. It's been so long since I was that low on a job I forgot how good it felt to get a level in a couple hours instead of a couple days.

<derail> Holy cripes! How does an RDM find time to toss Refresh?!?! I'm having a hard time keeping up with everything else...and at 41 I gotta squeeze in ANOTHER spell?!?</derail>

                            Okay, coffee time.

Wait till you have 5 to refresh plus a couple to haste...
