I am looking to get the beestinger for my thief but I just started playing and am all the way down in windy. I know it is up around Bastok and if any of you happen to be in the market for selling one I have 3k at the moment that I can put down. Sn is Asukura so just send me a /tell.

Beestinger drops off an NM in South Gustaberg called Stinging Sophie. People don't usually sell it.

That aside, you want to primarily be using a sword on your THF right now anyways. Daggers have lower DMG/Delay ratios than other weapons starting out and really bad Weapon Skills to boot. After getting the Viper Bite WS at 33, you'll pretty much use daggers full time.

True, but with THF being their first job, it might suck trying to catch dagger up in skill to that point.

Such is life. Getting a weapon to 100 isn't that bad, and he's going to have to take time out to skill up Marksmanship at 15 anyways. Or he could do it while levelling WAR, which is pretty much mandatory for a THF.

I'm lvl'ing marksmanship as I go. I am just trying to find someone that is selling or wouldn't mind getting it to sell it. I'm not asking for handouts as I am willing to pay for it and if I don't get it I will be fine either way. I just made the thread to see if someone could but it is really no big deal. It's fun to get that dager tho, since its a spawn off of bees on that hill, you can easily farm up to 20-30k before you get the drop, do it as a war and be prepared for when you get thf, if you thf now, switch to war lol

Its so fast, its like the mnks 2hr, i love it. I prefur the small damage drop per hit for the constant attacks, as elvaan, i miss a lot.

Elvaan don't miss more than other races. Not by any amount observable by a human being. That aside, Beestinger's DPS is rather poor. No matter how fast it is, it's still a weak weapon. Besides, delay and hit rate have nothing to do with each other. Swinging faster isn't a remedy for missing - you'll swing more and miss more, and in the end you'll be missing the same % of hits.

DPS is the main thing to look for in weapons. DMG and Delay, on their own, mean nothing. It's the ratio of DMG to Delay that's meaningful. Swinging 30% faster is no good if you're going to be doing 50% less damage per hit.

Ummm...... Have you ever made a lvl 10 mithra drk with a scythe and a lvlv 10 elvaan drk with a scythe...

The miss-rate is definately something noticable by the human eye. I notice it I swear to god. I get mega pissed with elvaan only for some reason. Mithra I feel the miss rate is a normal miss rate, missing mabye once per fight. Missing 3-7 times per fight via elvaan? Only un-noticeable if your a complete moron who pays no attention to the game.

Maybe its becuase i know elvaan have the lowest nat dex and mithra have the highest that i pay more attention to elvaan, but i don't discriminate. Elvaan is and always will be my fav race, i want them to win. Regardless of the fact that they swing all weapons and walk like flamboyent homosexuals. At least they are not midgets.

ZOMG LEVEL 10S MISSING??!? What else is new? You may feel its noticible to the naked eye, however "Parser or it didn't happen."

Sorry, I've played both elvaan and mithra. Didn't notice a difference. The misses from my mithra drk hurt just as much as elvaan because of weapon delay. I've also seen parses between elvaan and other races with comparable gear stay about equal in terms of hit rate. Race does not really affect your hit rate as much as you want it to. Acc gear and food do.

There is not a huge difference in dex between races at low levels. A Mithra DRK has about 4 more dex than an elvaan DRK at lvl 10. That's a 3 acc boost from their dex at level 10. That can be made up with 2 HQ dex rings. If you're trying to tell me that 3 acc loss is making you miss that much more than a mithra and it's something that you can notice with your eyes, then I have a handful of magic beans I'm willing to sell you too.

That's like saying you're going to notice that you're hitting harder because of the 3 str that Elvaan DRK has over Mithra DRK at lvl 10. When it's all randomized within a range, there is no way you can tell with your eyes from that small amount, no matter what you say.

Gear/food is a non issue. Another race with the same job can wear almost all the same gear as the other. If you test something like this its same level, same job, same weapon, no food, and naked.
