    Re: Beaches, Parties, and Ignorance.

What happen to the good ol'days when you could actually get a party in mhaura ; ; I feel like FFXI old fart.... Mhaura about 2 1/2 years ago, used to be the place on midgarsormr where the people with rank 5 used to lvl but alas, now even that is gone and all there is now.... is the dreaded dunes.... I remember me and a character named koala douing dhamels and rarabs in mhuara long long ago.... back when I was still a young pld.... not mention if you have a high lvl friend you can get all the job quests parts in 40 mins since there is almost no competition in the zone now.
"how broken everything about ToAU is."
"Do you have Haruhi in your daily anime diet?"
"ok... I've quit 5 times... and failed each time miserably... they need a patch for FFXI like those nicotine ones...."
    "Finally Quit this game"

As far as Valkurm goes, it's the place to be...and the same goes for Qufim and Kazham. I didn't start getting invites for creative locations until 34th level--Crawler's Nest is much too small for the number of parties that end up there.

And about typing, it is hard and long to type using the on screen keyboard with the 360 controller. So if people are a little quite they probably are typing, just takes them a while.
I am also on the 360 and would hope I represent the better side, lol! I ended up buying a proper keyboard because it took nearly half an hour just stringing 3 words together using the controller, so I usually gave up!

I'm still very much a beginner and trying to get my lvls up, but I have noticed in the last couple of days that there are more idiots on at certain times - more interested in arguing over who's the better player/ who has the best items etc. One guy was even moaning about how he was paying a subscription to play this and thought it rubbish that he had to work to get stuff and level up.....I really felt like telling him to stop playing then but ignored him instead.

Must admit, I'm more of a soloist at the mo but I have done my bit of healing when required. I did have a lot of advice from well-meaning players at the beginning, telling me I need a better weapon, but at the time I was battling monsters so I could earn money to GET a better weapon so it was a bit frustrating at times!

Then I had someone offer to trade me a linkshell without really asking me first, but I felt it impolite to refuse, then discovered they were all Japanese and I just kept getting screens of Japanese writing, lol!

But it's not all bad, I had someone give me a loan to start out with when I was really new & desperate for equipment, and a good few who'll back me up if I need it (and vice-versa).

Yea i really need to get that keyboard, i hate not being able to say more than ty when someone heals me or casts protect on me or saves me. When i try to type more they leave and i cant help but think they think im a jerk lol.

I have been in one party so far, and it was horrible. A SUM, WAR, MNK, and me THF. we rested after almost every mob and the warrior couldnt hold hate... I got ambushed by, and justly named, a goblin Ambusher and got destroyer. I went back to my party and they were fighting it so i just ran for zone lol. Of course, party wipe...Minus me who barely got away.

I got some harsh advice on equipment and some criticism about my job... Money was a huge problem for me, my source of income was the flint stone quest. Until i found out the grain seeds i was selling to NPC for like 30gil sold in AH for 2300+.... So im sitting comfortably for my level now...

            Re: Beaches, Parties, and Ignorance.

My experience in the Dunes was horrid.
Ask me how I got into a 48-50 pt in which the owner had two PL?!
Why did my pt leader decide to fight a Bogy (and the other party members joined--except me!)?

I even was with a 35 PLD who didn't tank at all (despite we told him to tank constantly! Provoke, Provoke, Provoke!)

My Qufim party was worse because the EXP I was getting was 300 an hour...
Pt took on a Banshee. Urgh.
Almost four years experience playing FFXI. I am a Raccoon, not a Hyena--despite my name states I am one.

Get creative and pretend these happened.
Flaremoogles! Maester Hare HNM Fight! Charmander HNM!

            Ow...
