I don't wanna even try to explain all the different things my friends have told me to do to buy this game and get it setup. I want to get the game with all extra content for xbox(I dont have a pc). The only thing I've found that will surely work is the ultimate collection new off amazon for $189. Hasn't there got to be a less expensive way to get this game on xbox? I really appreciate any help I can get, thanks.

Okay, well...your options are limited if you want to stick to the XBox360 or (worse) the PS2 versions, because both have been out of the print a long time now...hell, even the PC ones are technically out of print--it's just that you can do a digital download whereas you cannot for the other two platforms.
Here are your options that I know:
1. Buy the price at the stupid price you mentioned.
2. Buy a used copy either on Amazon, EBay--wherever. However, this is a two step process, you'll need a minimum of the ultimate edition in order to get vanilla plus the original expansions; since it's a used copy..you'll have to also purchase a new PC edition in order to get working serial numbers.
3. Shop around your local computer/gaming stores. If you're lucky, you might find a new, sealed copy lying in the dust on the shelves--I know I saw one at my Fry's a few months ago.
4. "Mod" your XBox and download a burned copy of FF11 and get serial keys at the aforementioned way. Obviously I'm not going to condone piracy, and this forum is against it AFAIK--don't ask me! I don't even own a 360 so I wouldn't know how to help you.
5. Buy a PC version and play on your desktop/laptop. The game is pretty old nowadays, so you can pretty much run this game just about on any computer. You can even plug in your 360 controller and it should work fine. -

controls maybe, but the game looks the same on 360 as PC. To the OP, DO NOT BUY THE GAME for anything over 25$ on ebay!, i see this is a old post so i hope you didn not! just get the steam code and apply it to you're squenix account and VIOLA! get a used disc on ebay like i said. All that matters is the code you get off steam, that's the actual game. The disc is needed simply to spin up the playonline viewer. any disc from the very first to the latest will work 100%!Originally posted by Takelli View PostComment

Completely false. You can double (or more) your overlay resolution on the PC via registry editing to get a crisper look. I'm running on 1920x1080 at 4000x4000 overlay with the drawdistance plugin amongst others as well as a texture pack edit:Originally posted by Leggomyeggo View Post

1920X1080 on my 360 with my 51 inch plasma, it looks pretty crisp, i would love to have better textures though, the mountains and walls just look flat ugly. Can you post a picture of the detail on the walls? if not don't sweat it. i tried to get this game to work on PC for 2 days, error after error, i found a work around for everything and then something else would get in the way right after so i just said screw it. Windows 7 is a nightmare for FF XI. I would also have to get the controller to work because atm im just sick of KB and mouse and tbh it's getting to my wrists after about 15 years lol.Originally posted by Hayde View PostComment
