It does seem bottish, but I'm baffled what the scam might be. If it's account theft, what's the point of stealing newly made characters on free trials? If it were fishing for CC info, this'd be a heck of a roundabout way to go about it.

Well, the first thing that would have thrown a red flag is your awkward syntax and language use. That's typical of spam bots.

Second, most of our users here are North American players and not familiar with the URL for the European official site. I had to do a bit of research myself to make sure it was legit before approving your post; I wouldn't blame the average user for assuming it was a spoof, given how common phishing has been in FFXI's past.

Also, your request comes off sounding weird, which is just a symptom of not expressing yourself very well and wouldn't have been a problem if not for points one and two, but only goes to confirm the suspicions of someone who already thinks you're a bot. Your copy-pasting of our names in your second post also supports the idea that you could be a program running a script, and your somewhat oblivious suggestion that the site administrator was either a new player or a spammer didn't help matters.

So for these reasons, we assumed you were a scammer or bot.

Add to that the fact that he cross-posted this on ZAM and it's not entirely unlikely that it could have been something shady trying to hit all the FFXI community sites it could get into. Again, behavior common to phishing schemes.

Also: assuming a site administrator is a new player/calling said administrator a spammer.

I see, I done that in the other forum sites too about 15 websites, anyways just to recruit members from Page 1 and 2 of google website forums and on ebay also.
I'm all legit. The language I'm using its a uk language or I can always say dude just to start it off lol

The forum's automated spam guard identified your post as possible spam and hid it. I approved it, but when you edited it the system checked it again and rehid it.
