I seem to have managed to get everything running quite decently except for some reason the in game aspect ratio option won't let me choose anything other than 4:3 when if I could only choose 16:9 everything would be perfect. I'm running the game with 1766x994 resolution. I cant figure out why only 4:3 is available.

OK, I figured that out.. Now I just need to figure out how to redeem my in-game item and actually play the game.. Didn't seem to be many people where I was. I chose Velofer and Bartok to start. My character name is GeoGolem.

OK, everything seems to be great except for some issue with the controls of the right analog stick. For some reason the camera pans up/down when i press it right/left or right/left when i press it up/down.... Trying to figure out how to fix this. I know the directions can be inverted in the in-game menu but that only fixes the problem if the camera is moving on the right axis in the first place

OK, I seem to have worked out all the issues with my setup... graphics, controls etc. I even saw someone where I was and tried talking to them but they said they only speak Japanese. Looks like I am going to need to read up on this game alot.

Also I haven't figured out how to redeem the item/weapon or whatever it was that came with the steam purchase.

Hey guys is there supposed to be an opening cinematic for the game etc. I am led to believe there is via google/youtube etc. but I did not and cannot figure out how to watch it in-game...

Any suggestions?

I can't seem to find the option for the opening cinematic in the ff11 config.... oh well, i saw it on youtube. I was more worried that I was missing something else in game too but I don't think thats the case.

leasious, I am on Valefor in the Bastok region. My characters name is geogolem and he's a level 12 warrior. I completed the first two missions.

I met some guy who guided me a bit and gave me a ton of gil and crystals. I hope I can find some new players to party with as I think that would make the game that much more fun

I'm going to log into the game now (EDIT: in about 5 minutes). If you can send me a message or something so I can add you to my friends list etc. if you want. Depending on what stage you are in the game perhaps we could play together, or maybe inthe future once I catch up

I met up with yyg and he gave me a linkshell pearl! ironically yyg knows the guys that were helping me.

My warrior is now at level 28 and I'm going to start leveling up the monk for my supporting job... and try to get a chocobo license!! I'm really starting to like the game now!

hehe, I want to play as much of FF11 as I can in the short term.. but long term as soon as FF14 is fixed and on ps3 I will jump on that I guess....

I'm a long time FF fan .. and FF11 is the first game in the series I have played in a while that has given me that FF feeling I used to get with the old SNES FF games

I quit Valefor due to lack of help. Went back to Sylph. In a good LS there, got my Primes done last night. Going for Fenrir later on today. Doing shitty ranked missions right now. Ughuu...don't bother looking for Yg here, his timezone is magically so messed up you'll never find him and he doesn't take the pre-emptive to PM you. You have to PM him instead.
