New to FFXI

Hi, I'm new to FFXI and I havent had much experience with other MMORPGs (played some Rift and some Guild Wars but not much) and I was just wondering if anyone has any tips or anything? I've done all the things Selele in Windhurst told me to do and I'm not quite sure what to do or where to go now. Also would be nice to have some other people to play with, preferably people who just play to have fun and dont really care about me being crap at the game

Remove the "H", and you should be fine...

Other than that, play at your own pace, have fun. Just don't have so much, it takes the fun away from other people.

If you need any help on quests, or missions, just go to the FFXI wikipedia.

Yea, just try to remember it is Windurst. It's a huge peeve of most of the community here when they see it miss spelled, especially with an h in it.

I'm just terrible with spelling names, I usually dont make the mistake again after I've been corrected though so it shouldnt be a problem again

Don't listen to Takelli. A lot of the words in this game are spelled oddly. As a new person, we certainly aren't going to give you any grief about it.

It's ok, I've spelled Windurst wrong for years. I always spelt it w-i-n-d-h-u-r-t-b-a-g-v-i-l-l-e

Yes I'm on Leviathan.
I'm not a "Big" player but I can provide a Ls to help get you started and get to know some people. The Ls I'm in isnt very big but we're helpful.
You can join us if you wish, We have no requirements other than just to have fun, We don't expect anything of you and you are free to join other Ls if you find one that suits your needs we understand that and it's fine.

My character is called Ianto, I had to rename when the servers merged. I also spotted the original Satori during besieged which I found cool. Sadly they had "novelty" gear on. I deserved the name more XD lol

They are the sackholders for "Theredpill" I can think of from the top of my head.
If you like you can just send them a /t and tell them Ianto sent you and you should get a pearl pretty fast.

Or you can wait for me and send me a /t. I should be online within the next hour or two. I've just got to quickly pop to the shops.
Most of them play on "american / canadian" time. Where I'm on british time and slightly nocturnal lol.

Most of them are experienced players and usually up to something that could keep you busy and they'd be glad to help you if you request it.
We seem to attract married couples for some reason, But it's a pretty cool atmosphere within the shell like hanging out at a bar with friends. The chat gets a bit perverse and some of us have "boundary issues" lol. But it's all good fun and I've not seen drama ever.

Oh I forgot to mention. We're slightly scattered at the moment due to the leader leaving the game so we all abandonned ship so the Ls didn't stagnate
