Hello, so I use to play, infact I played for a very long time. However due to work I stopped and haven't played for a few years now. So I'm looking at coming back now ^^ Hoping to have some fun again.

Well I'm planning on making an entirely new account for this I tried once before to return and relized I didn't remember how to do anything on the game XD so the way I see this would be the best way to approach the problem.

On a semi-related note: If I wound up coming to Cerb... you could count on another recruiter/trainer of newbz.

I think I'll probably most likely join you guys. I got the game downloading while I was on lunch, once I'm off I'll install and update which could be a long process.

XD well I was kinda hoping that my fast internet would help make the, retardly, slow process of updating FFXI slightly faster.....

It depends. I did a fresh install on my laptop not long ago and it only took me 5 hours. I remember trying to do it on my old desktop a year ago and it was about 8 hours. It's hit and miss really. If your connection is good and your computer is good... you shouldn't have to wait more than 5 hours total from install to playing.

I played XI for a few days back in 2007. I'm interested in giving it another shot with a friend of mine, but i'm trying to figure out servers and such before I invite him. Is there a linkshell willing to take on two more new players? >.>

Check out this thread and let me know if Cerberus is something you might be interested in. We have 10-15 players on most nights in Eastern and Central time. We are always recruiting and looking to meet new people.
