If I pay the $1 for a second character slot, then put him on the server I wish to transfer my main character to, am I able to name him the same thing I have my main named, so when I server transfer my main character I can change his name?

I really don't like the name I chose for him.

Yes, that should work.

They really need to add a name change service....

yes it does work, in fact it is the reason why character transfers and creating new characters are disabled when a server merge is to take place.

I have a question about world transfer servers. Actually, I have a couple questions. If I go to changed worlds, is there a way to check if my character's name will need to be changed? (Aside from creating a character there.) There was a character that is named the same thing on ffxiah, but the last transaction was 2010, so I am assuming that character may not play any more. That being said, will the name be saved for them in case said person comes back? I think I already know the answer, but when you pay for the service, all your mules get transfered correct? I really don't want to change her name.

If the character still exists there, then you will have to change your name.

Also yes, you are charged the fee but can move as many characters as you want in that one transaction, so you can move all your mules over if you want as well. You can also leave them or move them to other servers if you wanted to as well (although doubt you actually would).

No.

Unless you count someone else creating a character there for you. If it matters that much, pay the dollar for the slot, then cancel the new content ID after checking the name.
