Phew, figured it out...thanks a ton guys! So I just got my arse handed to me by a pixie haha
>Pixies deals 41 damage to Twinspirit<
>Twinspirit dies<
(Back in town) /facepalm
Anywho, do I just start out grinding or is there an area where quests are available? I'm in Windhurst btw. Also is there a way to get around the fact that Playonline crashes everytime I alt tab?
A game pad, huh? How come not cordless, since my computer has bluetooth capabilities?
1: Don't kill pixies.
2: Last I heard, there was a new player questline that was started some time around 2008 that offers new players some tutorials and rewards that help you get more accustomed to the game. I'll find you a link.
3: Alt-Tab was never suppose to be an allowable function. POL made it that way in order to prevent 3rd party programs from being able to run at the same time as the game. It sucks, but it's the way it is. There are ways around it... but most of the are considered "cheating"... although they're hardly enforced.
4: The cordless Logitch Dualshock I purchased installed fine and worked fine... but had 1 major flaw. No matter what I did or how I adjusted it in the config... it pulled the camera to the right constantly. I thought it was just a defect of the one I bought, so I returned it and got a new one. Same problem. It did it on 3 different controllers. The corded one never gave me that problem. The only diff between the 2 besides the cord is the turbo button that the corless offers. It's not worth the hassle... even if you did plan to fiddle with it until it worked. The corded one plugs in... loads up a config menu and works flawlessly. Go with that one.

Yes. Go to your start menu and find the ffxi config stuff. There should be a checkbox that lets you play in windowed mode. Problem is you can't really toggle between fullscreen and windowed mode. It's an either or situation unless you dabble in third party software.

This is true. Do this. Once you're in the game you can hit the "full screen button" in the top right of the window. It won't be full screen per-say... but it'll only have a small boarder around the screen's edges. Thats what most of us (who dont use a 3rd party program that shall not be named) do.

There is an official Windowed mode for FFXI now. If you go into your Start Menu (on your PC lol), find your Final Fantasy XI folder, open up Final Fantasy XI Config, and in that box that pops up I believe there is a checkbox for "Run in windowed mode."
If it has changed someone please correct me. I never used the official SE windowed mode.
Whoops, nevermind, I was beaten to this. I was on break at work and this thread exploded!
