New user, help!

Hi everyone, so a friend of mine gave me a trial pass to FFXI. I installed and updated the Pol program but now it's asking me for a content ID and the only way for me to get one is to purchase one. I'm really not in the mood to spend money just for a trial...did I miss something?

You DO need to purchase a content ID for the trial version, as I recall, but the price is 0 (for the first 30 days). In order to get the ID you have to set up the content ID with a valid credit card (this way, the automatic billing can trigger after the 30 day trial without prompting you for it).
