I just got the 14-day trial of FFXI, and after making my character and watching the intro cutscene, I have no clue what to do! I barely understand how to move, and I don't know how to open what menus or what they do. I had to manually turn off my computer because I couldn't even figure out how to log out.
I also have an XBox 360 controller plugged in, but it doesn't do anything in-game. It registers on my computer, so I know it's not the controller; do you have to select an option/setting to use the controller or something?
And is there an option to make the game not full-screen or minimize it?
Long story short, I have no clue how to play the game. At all. Help?
Also, is the PlayOnline account what you're actually paying for when you pay the monthly fee for FFXI? Or do you not have to pay for PlayOnline? I'm kind of confused about the whole PlayOnline thing... the only other MMORPG I've played is World of Warcraft, which, apparently, is WAY different.
Sorry if it's a lot, I'm just hopelessly lost. I'd really appreciate any help. Searching Google for the stuff I've mentioned just brings up tips for experienced players or technical-computer-stuff for changing the controller's buttons around or something....
