resubbed and just had some questions

so i made a character after resubbing and it just seemed like there was no talking on the game so it was hard to ask questions in game is there a certain chat channel you have to join or am i just on a low populated server? I want to join a server that is gonna be lively and have helpful people populating it so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know thanks

The starter cities are emptier than you may remember depending on how long ago you last played. The game's population in general has been shifting towards the high levels as time has gone by, and most of those players are now in Aht Urhgan Whitegate.

You're more likely to run into people in party locations like Valkurm Dunes or Qufim Island, since there are still plenty of (sub) jobs to level even for a high level character, and many people take two jobs to Lv.75 these days.

Its sad but true. But, there seem to be more and more people starting to play teh game again. Maybe the starting cities will be becoming populated again by lower level players once again.

My server has a decent amount of peopel running about in the Sand dOria (The only city that has anyone anymore on my server lol). They are usually crafting, or just running about buying stuff, but their is a decent amount there.

2 thing you need to know as a new player.

as above say, all newbie town are pretty much dead. It is the same with All MMORPG, so FFXI isn't an exception but FFXI usually have many thing require character to return to newbie city so it is better.

A second thing is a powerful command is call /sea all (type it on chat).
What it do is give you a list of all character on the server. Just look for a high level guy... and bug them. Ask nicely and people will response to you. Really, it really helps as long you don't ask them for physical helps, almost everyone will give some time and answer your question or even give you a linkshell.
