returning player, starting fresh.

Hey there, i might buy the game again and start fresh. The main reason i quit before was population, i couldn't find parties and it took roughly 3-4 hours of waiting just to join one. My servers population was pretty low though.

If i do return, high populated server is probably a requirement for me.. especially since i'm living in New Zealand which means US prime time = bed time for me.

I have one or two questions, after searching on these boards i can see that Odin is the most populated server, but apparently it's soo populated that Square-Enix have closed the server for new characters? (correct me if i'm wrong)

I guess my main question would be, what's the 2nd most populated server? Asura?

Based on the numbers over at the Auction House site, it looks like Odin is #1, followed by Bahamut, then Pheonix.

I might start on Bahamut since Odin isn't really an option anymore. Would you say Bahamut is mainly JP or well rounded with NA/EU/JP players?

For some reason, although bahamut has the 2nd highest population (according to ffxiah) it seems on all the FFXI community sites i visit, bahamut forums are usually dead?

i have my eye on Seraph for some reason, would anyone here say the population on Seraph is pretty decent? my main problem would be dunes/yuhtunga... at least 3-4 years ago it was.. i haven't played ffxi with these new additions (sync + valor)

Usually during those hours especially after 12:00AM EST there are usually alot of JP online to play with. Odin was overcrowded and many people left those servers for other ones since SE started kicking peeps out.
