  • Greetings Program!

    Hello everyone!

My name is Mordarm and alllow me to introduce myself. First some RL info about me:

-I am an avid anime fan.
-I am a shameless reader of fan fiction.
-I love music in all it's forms.
-I tend to ramble about many things.
    -I enjoy cooking.
-I enjoy all kinds of RPG's

    Now about my MMO history:

It has been a long time since I've played FFXI (around the end of 2001 on Odin). But sadly I had to quit due to my entering active service in the U.S. Army. While I was serving, I've tried other MMO's (which will remain nameless, for sanity sake) but I never recaptured the feel of belonging like I had in FFXI.

Fast forward several years (and now a disabled veteran), I find myself missing the good times I had online with my friends. So I decided to return to my MMO roots with FFXI. So one new 360 and a Vana'diel 2008 Collection later I'm back.

(Sadly though I could not restore my old account and characters. )

As I am rather stumbling around trying to I re-familiarize with Vana'diel, and get myself back into the grind (ah yes, those low-level blues....and bruises ), I felt that I need to find a rather friendly forum, LS and players to help me get back into par, so to speak. A few Google searches later here I am. So one step is done but step two and three are not as easy though. I know there are great and countless LS (and players) out there, so I'm going to try to be specific as best I can (for a LS I mean):

I'm looking for a friendly, mature and social LS on Midgard and/or Sylph who are out to enjoy FFXI (and don't mind having a low level Taru RDM wandering around like an moronic Gobbie who lost is favorite bomb ). I'm not looking (nor expect) for free handouts or power-leveling from the LS, just a willingness to help new players for fun and friendly chat. This does not mean I am unwilling to help, just the opposite; I find helping someone just because they might need it more fun for me (and rather satisfying in my part).

I do understand folks will need players for various quests and end-game events but I need to work myself up back there again (due to starting from scratch). I hope to get myself up there rather quickly but, as you all well know, the grind is easier with good friends.

So enough of my self-ramble; feel free to drop me a PM here or online. I look forward in having new adventures with you all and making new friends.

So I'll see you all on the flip side (or on the PlayOnline side or the FFXI side...or...uhhh...whatever ).

    -Mordarm

P.S. A cookie for anyone who got the movie reference in the title!

Good luck with that. I've been on Midgard forever and still haven't found one. LOL

Whoops! Sorry about that...I'm usually more careful on the rules.
          /tosses another cookie in apology.
And also thanks for the links, I already have a few of them bookmarked.

Well I'm not fully settled on a server yet as my Main is still quite low level. What is your LS called?

            Re: Greetings Program!

Well as far as forums go, you've come to the right place. For the most part, we're one of the nicer bunches of people you'll find, we get along well (most of the time!) and are glad to give advice.

Linkshells ... god, don't get me started. I'll just leave it alone.

Former Army myself, though, so very nice to meet you. I was enlisted from 02-04. Not disabled, though, just parental now. =)

Glad to have you on the forums. Be sure to check out the pet peeve thread for some good laughs, and the accomplishment thread to keep us all informed of what you've been doing. I'm always interested in what others have been doing, so it's a great thread we've got, one of our longest running ones, as well.
