Hey I am new to this game, and I thought I would just say whatsup? I started on Bahumut, and I am a Tarutaru RDM. I am currently only level 1, so if yall have any information you would like to give me, I will take it with open arms.

The biggest piece of advice is to read as much as you can of the information out there to try to understand how the game works. RDM is a pretty solid starting job, but it will start to get pretty busy down the road, so there's a lot you'll need to learn to do. Definitely look over the jobs pages on ffxiclopedia, and check out the stickied topics in the job forums of those jobs you intend to pursue. Since you've already picked most of your character details, there's not much more advice to give without a specific scenario cited.

THANK YOU all for the warm welcome I appreciate it with my utmost courtesy and respect. I also got a question, that forums, and sites do not answer for me. Should I use a dagger or a sword? I like using the dagger but, I am not to keen on the whole sword thing lol.

It doesn't much matter. Swords do output more damage than daggers will, but after about level 30 or 40, you really wont have time to even start swinging away at the mob.

For now, I'd recommend swords over daggers, but it's mostly up to you.

For parties, you're going to want to use clubs for intelligence and mind, which are important stats for red mage.

Remember to keep your Dagger level skilled up. It will be important to any RDM that seriously considers even hitting a mob for a moment. And when you get your first Enspell at 16, Enthunder, you'll find that more hits = more Enspell procs = more damage. Really, the Dagger is NOT a thing to be ignored on any RDM's weapon arsenal, especially in the Dunes and through Qufim.
