      Pointers for the game or forums?

      If it's the game, listen to your elders... but don't be guillible.

      If it's the forums, lurk and use the search function ~ it'll help a lot.

            Two things: Always have signet on and don't throw away those supposedly "useless" beastmen's seals.

              in game advice from me is to play all the starter jobs to lvl 10 before you commit yourself to a job. you never know what you'll like best. then take that job to lvl 18. once at lvl 18 go do the subjob quest. look up the job on wiki and find the best sub possible out of the starter jobs, lvl that to 37. if you find the best sub for your main is one of the advanced jobs you can quest them at lvl 30 to unlock them. so you can chose to take another job to 30 to unlock it then lvl that job to 37. some jobs have multiple subs that can be very helpfull to a party. try to lvl all of them to lvl 37. this will make you flexible and able to adapt to the parties needs. making you a better player then most... after that take you main to 75 and have fun.

              free nugget of wisdom: NM camping is for the sick and twisted.

              Welcome and Enjoy

                  You may find these helpful:Given all the account hacking that's been going around lately, some rules to follow:
                  1. Never hand out your account ID or password to anyone else. Not LS members. Not friends. Not even people who claim to be S-E employees.
                  2. Install security software on your PC, if you use one. (Antivirus and Firewall should be the minimum.) Keep your PC updated via Windows Update.
                  3. If browsing the web on a PC, use Firefox, and install NoScript. Don't enable any script from advertisers. Heck, don't enable any site's script unless it's absolutely needed and only if the site is trustworthy. NEVER allow scripts globally.
                  Following those rules will go a long way in protecting yourself. (There are alternatives to Firefox, but Firefox is free and well liked...)
                  Bamboo shadows sweep the stars,
                  yet not a mote of dust is stirred;
                  Moonlight pierces the depths of the pond,
                  leaving no trace in the water.
