New to FFXI

Hey all whatsup? I am new to FFXI I just started today, I havent played much yet, I thought that I would come on here and look around a little bit first. If you guys have any advice please let it be present. Well, talk to you all later, and see you in game!

Actually, have fun w/ the game. The best advise that I can give would be to RTFM, do some internet research about questions that you may have, (then post if you need further clarification), and play the game for you. Your paying for it.

Read, search, look through the first page or two of the relevant board, check Somepage and FFXIclopedia, etc. before asking questions so you don't get scolded by other posters. If you show you've done your fair share of looking and didn't find an answer, don't be afraid to ask whatever question it is you have.

Take it easy and take whatever people tell you with a grain of salt. There's lots of stupid myths and superstitions floating around in the game. If it sounds odd, it's probably wrong; get a second opinion. Or a third. Or ask here.

Finally, make sure you always get Signet before leaving town, auto-sort your items regularly so that they stack (items won't stack automatically sadly), use the Auction House often, check Somepage before buying gear and spells in the AH (it might be cheaper to buy from NPCs) and NEVER TOSS YOUR BEASTMEN'S SEALS.
