Hi, I have not yet bought FFXI, but I am really thinking about it. Is there a site that contains information about each class ( jobs i think they are called here). I mainly want to read up on the game itself without having to buy the game and read inside the book. I tried looked on the official site but all I found was about the races. Can someone help me please?

Re: New newbie need help
Browse the forums here. There's a forum for every job, and most have really informative sticky threads. There's also a handy search function.
FFXIClopedia's Job pages, which Hantz beat me to linking, give a nice run-down on spells/skills/abilities with some blurbs on each, too.Ellipses on Fenrir

Ok, this is helping. I think I read somewhere that you can have two jobs at a time? Is it possible to change your jobs later on in the game?

Re: New newbie need help
It's possible to change your job as soon as you're done with the opening cutscene and find your way to your moghouse. You only have access to the Starting jobs when you start. The Extra jobs can be unlocked by completing quests at level 30.
There are two quests (you do one or the other) to obtain a subjob, available at level 18. Your subjob is capped at half the level of your main job. (So, for example, if you level WAR to 18 and MNK to 10, you could be a WAR18/MNK9 or MNK10/WAR05 once you unlock subjobs.)Ellipses on Fenrir
