Hi im a newbie and i need help i dont know where to level up can some one please help me or give me some advise on playing this game.i play ffxi on my x360 console thanx ^^

Check your map from the main menu or by typing /map. You are looking for exits marked with red arrows. If you are in Windurst, you're looking for East Sarutabaruta or West Sarutabaruta. If you're in Bastok, you're looking for North Gustaberg or South Gustaberg. If you're in San d'Oria, you're looking for East Ronfaure or West Ronfaure.

Before you exit town, talk to the gate guard to get Signet. Their names end in W.W. (Windurst), R.K. or T.K. (San d'Oria), or I.M. (Bastok). Also make sure to equip whatever gear you have in your inventory, and learn the spell you start with if you started as a mage.

Once you're outside, make sure you check monsters before you fight them to see how strong they are. From levels 1 to 5 you can probably take on anything Easy Prey, Decent Challenge, or Even Match. After that, they'll start getting harder and you'll need to limit yourself to weaker and weaker monsters.

What do you mean by rare?

There are Rare items and rare items.

Rare items are items that a player can only have one of at a time. If you try and obtain a second item of the same kind, the game will produce an error message.

The rare items are armor and weapons that have unique and special attributes. These are either crafted or can be obtained by killing various monsters.

I'm guessing you mean the rare type that have the yellow circle in the upper right corner of the item description. Those are usually drops from NM's or BCNM's.
If you know specifically which ones you are looking for, check ffxi.somepage and type in the name of the item you want. It will give you the stats as well as how its obtained.

If you could be more Specific on what your looking for......like rare quest items or just so you can have a cool weapon.........we could probably help alittle more!!!

Don't worry about it.

NM = notorious monster

Basically, a special type of monster that usually drops valuable stuff.

BCNM = burning circle notorious monster

A special event in which you fight an NM for a chest containing items.

Those beastman seals you've been getting while soloing? Don't drop those, hold onto them for later. SE needs to put that message right as you log in for the first time. I know a lot of people who dropped the first few seals they got just starting out.

Blm you can choose for the get go.

Drk you can unlock once you get to lvl 30 and complete the DRK Flag Quest!

newbie question!!

do ffxi still charge you a $1 if you delete your character and make another one?and can some one help me or give advise how to earn gils?its kinda hard

No, the $1 charge is for a second content ID for 1 month. You can delete and recreate as many times as you like and still only get charged $1.

The $1 buys you a content ID. The content ID is used to create a character, but unless you cancel the content ID, it will be active even if you don't have a character using it.

1) As long as you have multiple content ID's you will be charged per month for them.

2) Get signet. Save Crystals. Sell on Auction House. Save all of the Beastmen's Seals.
