Converting FLV to GIF - Halp!

Ugh, so I'm trying to turn this FLV into a GIF so that I can make a GIF animation for it, and nothing I'm trying is working. Everything I've seen says to convert it to AVI first then GIF animators should have no problem opening it, yet no matter what FLV > AVI converter I use the GIF animators tell me that the file is corrupted or invalid when I try to open the resulting AVI.

Any ideas/advice?
