There is a 20 min. vid out about Elder Scrolls for the 360. Its being run on a 360 and it really does look amazing. Ran out and reserved it after I saw it! LOL

I know I know...I'm a slacker! LOL I really really hate release games!! I've been so let down in the past, so I'm kind of reserved about getting them on launch day. I let my son reserve Ghost Recon the day we pre-ordered the 360 and I left it at that. But when I saw that vid.......ZOOOOM!! out to the store I went! LOL

I've never been able to get into the Elder Scrolls games, are they really that good? Much to the chagrin of many, I rarely touch RPGs that aren't Japanese-made.

Ya, we heard about that a few days ago. Needless to say he is NOT a happy camper. Me either actually because this means that we have to reserve another game!

I play any and all RPG's on any system. It's funny because I was talking to a gaming friend about this the other day. We were doing a "Do you remember when...." conversation. The current gaming trends just rock! RPG's, Tactical RPG's, Action RPG's, etc everywhere you turn! Back in the day the looooooooooong waits for someone to translate an JP RPG or it to be released in the US are GONE! Nowadays you can find translation guides fairly quickly or it gets ported over. In a way its bad too though. I have stacks and stacks of unopened games just begging to be played but no time to do them all!

It doesn't matter how nice your T.V. is. The PS2 is going to have horrible graphics. The processing power of the PS2 doesn't upgrade with a new T.V. >.>

keep talking. Next-Generation consoles are just that. Next-Generation. We're already starting to see next-generation video cards that will probably beat the crap out of the consoles in the next two years.

So graphics are moot to start with. It's the gameplay that matters.

The processing power of the PS2 may not get better over time, but developers do.

Shadow of the Colossus proves that the PS2 still has it's legs, and Microsoft really is rushing to the next-generation.

And if you don't believe the game really looks like that on PS2...please do yourself a favour and go play it on a HDTV in Progressive scan.

I'm didn't say that PS2 was bad. I was pointing out the fact that FFXI graphics on the PS2 will not improve depending on what T.V. you're using. Granted the clearer and what not, but it's still going pale in comparison to the PC and 360 versions.

The graphics themselves may not improve, but the experience definitely improves for some.

On an HDTV with proper high-definition cables, FFXI on the PS2 is quite clear and nice to look at. Along with 16:9 support, I find it to be a much better experience than when playing without such a TV and connection. I actually find it better to look at than the PC version, but then again my PC is almost 3 years old now.

I play the game primarily on my widescreen TV, and, with the high-def cables, the game looks awesome. Screenshots can not do it justice, sadly ;o;

I'm waiting on the REAL test of 360: Show me a dude trodding through Jeuno. THEN we'll see how great you are. lol

Yes, definatly what TV you use and if it's HD or not makes a difference. I've known this since my brother and I had jerry rigged an OLD CGA Monitor to recieve a TV cable signal. The CGA monitor having higher pixel count then the TV (In essense being like an HDTV) it was very appealing to look at, the monitor was capable of truer color display then our TV was. You should of seen the reaction our Father and Mother had when we showed it to them (We were only 10 and 12 at the time), we ended up watching a movie on the rigged setup that our Mom and Dad wanted to see. It was so funny because those two couldn't stop saying how much nicer the image looks on that rickety old CGA Monitor then it did on the TV, only major difference was the amount of pixels they had (CGA Monitor having more pixels, better resolution still even though the data source didn't change).
