Finally got my own dedicated server!

Feel free to upload your videos to:
ftp.ffxionline.com/incoming/

You may upload/download new things to it, Anonymously!

For people with FTP Client, you want to connect to:
ftp.ffxionline.com and set the initial folder to 'incoming'

Periodically, I'll be moving videos into the official FFXIOnline.com download section. I'll insert a .txt file with information on where the files have been moved to.

NEW RULE!
WHEN YOU UPLOAD! please upload the file AND also upload a .txt file with the same name, with DESCRIPTION, and your FFXIO USER NAME!
for example: ffxi.avi and upload, ffxi.txt (with in the text, put a short description and your user name!)

Ok, here's a quick setup, that i use on cuteftp and there's one setting for a client called crystal FTP. other ftp clients should be similar.

Basically use the Anonymous log in with whatever password usually, a email address.
For address use : ffxionline.com
for folder on connection : incoming

Cool...now I just need to get a better system so I can make vids without killing my CPU.

while this is GREAT news, I too worry about the potential for abuse. how would we find such offenders for ya PiNG? does the ftp allow file browsing?

Could you tell us what port your server is on and perhaps the password to the anonymous account? My FTP client keeps asking me for a password to the Anonymous account, while trying to connect through the default port 21.

I figured it out.. It was my Opera browser that woulnd't let me upload.. when i went to IE . it worked fine.

Dangit, my video is 162MB. Any ideas on how to get it smaller? It is already in DivX form.

I like http://www.virtualdub.org/ but you have to have proper encoders. Takes awhile to get use to. I recommend saving the audio into its own wave file, re-encode the video, then add the audio (or re-encode to a lower bitrate/frequency while you add the audio) into the new file. Trying to do it all at once can make the audio get out of sync.

Its a great free program. I used it for a few FFXI cutscenes. You can make the video as rich or as crappy (like 300kbps bitrate or lower AKA media player bandwidth) as you like.

Can you make an exception for a 700MB video of Vrtra being defeated from Claim to Kill 1 hr 27 minutes long from a BLM perspective (running around killing SMNs)?
