      So, these are just hidden .dat files in everyone's client? The animations look great, but I'm worried that if there ever were a reflect spell implemented, wouldn't it reflect cures and such? Thats the purpose of reflect, redirect magic. Of course, even if a cure was reflected, it wouldn't heal the mob, as many people have accidentally tried.

          Well as far as the conversation of reflect. There is no writen rule book saying that a reflected cure won't cure a mob. The WHMs cures now don't effect mobs (unless they are undead) simply because of the problems that could result from it, it wouldn't be to nice to see a player screwing your party because they sit there Curing the mob that's trying to kill you.

          To that effect now a reflected cure I wouldn't see a reason why SE would not allow it to work. Just let the reflected cure target a monster that has you on it's hate list, with the addition of blockaid that allows for a cleaner hate list and not some jerk curing you to get on hate list then reflecting a cure to the mob. So this does make reflecting a cure and working on mobs more a possibility.

            Just imagine if a reflected cure did heal a monster. Someone outside the party could spam cures on you and heal the mobs o.O

            Throw some protect and shell spells. A haste spell even. You'll get one suped up moster thanks to someone messing around from the sidelines.

              Cancel the reflect buff in that case.

              Are these real? I thought some uber-skilled person spliced those into their dats.
              Reflect is such a powerful spell I would be surprised if players were given access to it.

                That is why I mentioned the new /blockaid command. If a player outside of the party tried to do that you just do "/blockaid on" and outside help is refused. That way the only way a monster gets cured is your own party members being idiots.

                If they do allow it, then it'll likely come with the mage "nerf" that's sure to be late in coming.

                  Well, I don't see a problem with it healing a monster. Reflect sends a spell back at the caster, so if you cured someone or something with reflect on, it would just cure you.

                  Also, you might want to look into some other hyper spells. I tried the /recast of a few spells, and there are a lot of really psychotic and powerful ones. There is a Quake II, Flood II, Tornado II, Flare II, etc. Also, Holy II, Banish V and Banishga V. There is a Curaga V, Thundaga V, Firaga V, Blizzaga V, etc. Bio III, IV, V and Dia III, IV, V and up to Diaga V.

                    When I was playing Ballista yesterday I saw a guy with a comment in his Bazaar that used the auto-translate function to say (Utsusemi: San) (Meteor II) (I'm Interested). Those spells aren't implemented.... are they? How'd he use the auto-translate function to say that, swapped some files around? I asked him, but got no reply. He was also an amazing BLM with like 20 gold chevrons and 40 job chevrons

                      and if they tried to cure you the spell should be reflected back to them

                      in FFVI spells were only reflected once, if you have reflect and they have reflect, you cast fire on yourself to fire them, the problem was cure spells, after you cast it on the enemy, no telling which character would get cured.

                          i have a feeling if they ever add in reflect its not gonna be to great... either ittl have a crappy chance of reflecting spells or have some really small duration, but ittl still be ysefull just not super amazing
