It's always a good idea have some form of Sneak and Invis anyway regardless of what you are playing or what area you are travelling through purely because there are a number of outdoor areas in the game where you can't mount a chocobo.
The Northlands in the Western Continent and the Mire in Aht Urghan are the most notable areas. There's also the Past and all of Abyssea too but thankfully there's lots of fast travel points so travelling is fast once you've unlocked them (and you can unlock Chocobos fairly quickly in the past anyway). I think there's that desert area where you get Garuda from too where you can't use a chocobo too (mostly due to there being no NPC to give you one but I think you can still mount your own).

I'd take it one step further and recommend you always carry Silent Oil and Prism Powder. Relying solely on the spells can get you into trouble if you're headed through an area where there are things that aggro to magic use. It's a good habit to get into, along with making sure you don't leave the mog house without a stack of Echo Drops.
Sneak and Invis is convenient, sure, but honestly, most people could do with a few naked races to Jeuno. There are so many things you can do in this game to avoid aggro without ever having sneak and invis, and with the lack of total reliability on those two (especially with the spell versions), they are things that are going to save your ass someday, even if you go through items like cocaine.
My LS did naked races to Jeuno a lot back when I first started playing. it was fun until gil got involved and people started getting way too serious with the betting.
