actually vincent.. thats not entirely true..... with the new info from E3 its entirely possible (well im 100% sure, but im open minded) that all importers will be able to continue using there characters for the NA/US release.

why... well it is confirmed that NA and JP will play on the same servers. and the NA versin of the game comes with a built in english to japanese translator of sorts.

i do believe that when the NA version is released.... I and many others will simply be able to uninstall the JP version and install the NA version and log into our accounts like normal... except everything will be in english.... oh i cant wait....

of course transfering characters from one server ( lets say a almost completely JP populated server) to a brand new server added for the NA players, will not be possible, as it is not possible now.

but i know i will enjoy my headstart on the NA players. LOL.

Nah the way I understand it. If you get the import and setup and account with it, then your account is going to be registered as Japanese. If you then buy the US version, what it will do is just take all the text in game like what the NPC's say will be in English but your account will still be Japanese.

The way the game was designed the data on the HDD is just a client an interface, the interface controlls how the information you get back will appear. So basically if you looked at the digital information you get on the transmissions back there really is no difference from the US and Japan, the difference comes when the client that translates that information to display to you is different.

So say the NPC has 3 sayings he'll say. Example of something like how it works:

English Client
Code | Saying
A1C: | Hello, how are you today..
B1C: | My the weather changes fast..
C1C: | Do I look funny to you??

Japanese Client
Code | Saying
A1C: | {Japanese Equivalent}
B1C: | {Japanese Equivalent}
C1C: | {Japanese Equivalent}


Don't know Japanse so can't put actuall Japanese text, but you get what I mean. So say the NPC says the first saying then the code A1C: is sent out to all players that's to see what that NPC says. The client displays it to what language they were designed for.

Well, I can actually get the import if I wanted to right now. This is probably such a newb question but... I've got enough money and a credit card but the only problem with getting the import for the PC is that I wouldn't know what to do. For example, How will I know what "attack" is, and which magic is which on the lists, and what anything else says. How do you guys get by the JP language on this game? Is there a site that has the entire menu interfaces translated...on here maybe? Just asking, and thnx for any help.
