    Re: Crawler Farming

As others have said, there's a difference between train farming vs. other farmers and train farming vs. people trying to exp. I personally still find it annoying even vs. other farmers, but not so much so that I'm going to, like, react in any way.

The only thing that gets a reaction is when someone gets all huffy about another farmer picking mobs off "their" train.

Yeah, I don't make a big deal of it in game, but I do make a mental note of the behavior. And I'm right there with Ellipses with the whole "Don't pick off my train" idiocy.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to piss people off, nor do I want to steal mobs from people grinding.

I've had the experience of trying to find a mob, and having a hell of a time. I started in the 360 beta, and the whole population was farming in the extreme low level areas. It was BAD.

Still, I was only linking crawlers, and there was way more mobs to kill. At the moment the only reason is I was short on gil. However I've taken up fishing and and going for carp to roast and sell. Much quicker money maker.

If I see people in the area, I definitely won't be doing it. I know there weren't people around that night.

          Thanks for the sig, Selphiie!!

It's fun, too. I probably still have some old screenshots laying around of me vs an unreasonably large phalanx of bees or crawlers or what have you that made me feel like a badass at the time.

If you're patient, fishing is probably better money. The drop rate on those silk threads is terrible. Unless something's screwed up about your server economy, don't roast the carp though. A wise man once said "Roasting carp makes baby lu shang cry." Putting it through that crystal should take most of the value out of the item.

              Re: Crawler Farming

I hate to play devil's advocate, but there is not many places he can go to farm, unless he has some unsaid high level job we don't see. So, if he is farming those things, which is a necessity when your making your first go through for any job to level 75, hell even your 2nd or 3rd job.

It may suck, but if needs the money, which silk threads are notoriuos for doing (giving money that is), then he has every right to train them to make better use of his time, as opposed to killing them individually.

I agree though, doing something like that in the Dunes is kinda rude since it is a well known XP spot across any server. But, at least on my server, there is not many people who XP in Bubu. If it became a heavily XP'd type area like the dunes, then it would cause some problem in my eyes, kinda like the Dunes training.

I do, however, see the points of view from other people, and at the same respect them immensely. I am just offering my point of view here, so please don't hate me, too much ^^

I've been so considerate and nice as a bst early on and almost every time its came back to bite me in my little taru ass.

I've tanked so many mobs for people just because they needed certain things or couldnt find anyone else to do it or I'm the only one that can do it or etc etc. when it comes time for a small favor on my side (small as in, I need a few ringers to just heal me while i essentially solo something) , all I get are excuses or no replies.

I play on the Bahamut server. It's awesome.

I'm just nice and/or considerate to people without any expectation of something in return. Not that I'm claiming you expect it, but I've just found that not expecting anything like that goes a long way towards keeping me from feeling like a doormat.

Plus, I'm lucky in that my LS practially falls over itself to help with stuff (we all do, so it's cyclical), which may have a lot to do with my feelings on the subject.

So many afk starts popping up in chats it is sickening.

That is a nice LS to have Aelathir, wish more deserving people could be a part of something like that.

You know, when I do something for someone, I really dont expect anything back in return. Well, that's a lie, I expect just a smidge of appreciation. That's all.

It's just sad when you ask your LS for help, which again, isnt really help at all when you do most of the work, and out of 10-15 people in the LS, it all of a sudden turns dead quiet.

                            Anyhow, sorry. Off topic/Hijack now.

Well, to be fair, although my LS is pretty helpful (and I really did just kind of luck into that), I still don't have any friends to do things with. Once upon a time, I had a few close in game friends that I knew had my back when I needed things done, and I always had theirs in return. I've never partied with any of my LS for exp, and we don't really chat much. So, I'm lonely, but hey! I have no trouble getting things accomplished.

I'm not sure which I prefer, really. :/

                                Anyway, enough off-topicness from me.
