SMN is the reason we killed Ouryu >.>; Had smn use Astral Flow when he did take off for the first time and uses Invincible. Guarda can tank Ouryu for nice chunk of time while he is in the air, allowed us to rest up a bit and go in full force after Invincible had ended, only took us 9 times to kill him -.-;

I've heard other people say just simply erase bio, but how? The DoT from bio won't wake you, and maybe we just had bad luck, but he used Nightmare fairly often ._. With the cap raised to 45 though, makes this battle a joke. If he can't Nightmare off its not really much of battle.

And if they ever nerf the Ouryu fight I'll die, we went through so much trouble with that BC it wasn't even funny :mad:

Meh. I should've gone with my original rambly post. I forgot to put back in the disclaimer that I hadn't seen SMN in action for the BCs, and had not in fact even played it to a high level myself. So these were just my conceptual theories. In other words, me talking without experience.

You're absolutely right, of course. Aerial Blast would do a lot of damage to Ouryu (whose HP bar does move reasonably fast, what's annoying is that his attacks suck, particularly if he's up in the air), up to three times, and would furthermore spare the tank from getting hit so long as Garuda is alive. (Though I still stand by my point that Earthen Ward, if ever there was an opportunity to use it, would be awesome for cutting down on collateral damage to non-tanks.)

Since when is the Diabolos fight 45-cap? There hasn't been an update since I did it, and it was 40-cap then.

Regarding Nightmare, he does use it a lot, but the point of Erase is not for waking people up (Cure and Curaga, along with Barsleepra, accomplish that goal ... once *someone* cure-capable wakes up anyway). It's to keep people alive when they're being hurt for 20 HP/tick due to that nasty Bio effect. He doesn't spam it so much that you can't get most of your party cleared by the time he uses it again. (Even though you then have to clear it all over again, at least you're significantly cutting down on the damage in the meantime.)

Like I said - I'm sure it can be won without Erase (just need more healing to keep up with the damage), but having a WHM to Erase the Bio effect would make it visibly easier. In my opinion anyway.

If I've learned nothing else from doing these missions, it's that you have to tailor your strategies to the jobs you have available to work with.
