Ahh, perfect. Helping people with Windurstian missions up to rank 5 happens to be my specialty. Look me up sometime. I can do those missions with my eyes closed by now. XD
Umm a little upsetting news. My PC wont be accessable to me FFXI-wise until 11/11/04, so im guessing that the world pass will have expired by then. Meh  Anyways, hope all is well Fal, i will find other methods of obtaining a WorldPass to your server. I would however like to apologize for not utilizing the one you purchased for me and the others, and i feel like a dick for you having spent gil on me, only for it to be wasted. Sorry for that.

Yep, my chars name is Atmos and it's at lvl 6 THF and lvl 3 WAR so if you tell me your chars name I'll look ya up. Oh, and Kyrial, I was wondering since you were talkin about the Windy missions, could you help me with 1-2 and 1-3 sometime? Just send me a tell in game.
I haven't really posted many pictures lately, so my apologies. I'm still trying to work on the Kirin pictures from my JP LS last week, but I've really been busy lately. I didn't take any pictures from last night's/this morning's Kirin because well...I took plenty from last week's run. I did take a picture of the drops though (where I could). I'll try to get those up ASAP.

So how did Kirin NA, Kirin JP, and (in advance) Dynamis-Windy go? To Vilurum: NA Kirin Battles: Kirin NA went well in my opinion, though some of those who went last night may disagree. I think this was the first time an NA group attempted him on our server (many others have individually attempted him with their respective JP HNM Linkshells, including me). With that said, I think only 3 of us in that group have fought Kirin before. Slacker, Nnep, and myself. We had 2 sets of seals to trade, so we planned on fighting him twice. The first battle went decently well. There were many deaths but in the end, we won with the Osode and Pole as drops.
The 2nd battle is where it is arguable on whether or not we did well. All of you who have fought Kirin before know he's pretty easy. The gist of the battle is kite him around until all four of his summons are summoned and defeated. From then on, it's just chipping his HP away as much as you can and recover when he does Astral Flow. It was going well for us for the 2nd round until he summoned Suzaku. Well, you're supposed to 'Call for Help' on the Summoned Gods. You don't have to, but if you have several alliances there, it makes things go much quicker in taking out the threat. For the first bit, nobody called help on Suzaku, so he wasn't taking much damage at all. One person took it upon themselves to call for help, but they were in the Kirin PT. This was an obvious accident, they were trying to help but they forgot they were in main alliance. Suzaku and Kirin both turned orange. Well, that threw everyone's (most everyone's) concentration out the door. So instead of focusing, a lot of people were saying "OMG!" and the like. During this time, because it took so long to take out Suzaku, Kirin then summoned Seiryu. So with Kirin, Suzaku, and Seiryu taking players out left and right, people were frantically trying to kill Suz (who was almost dead). Suz eventually died but he didn't go down without a fight. Chainspell Firega 3, Fire IV, and Flare is not a pretty thing. Many dead bodies laid around him. With just a few of us left standing, a few of us wanted to just give up and let Kirin despawn. Others however, wanted to keep going (including myself). So I made everyone who was left standing to log out for 1 minute and then log back in. Well it worked! Upon coming back, Kirin turned claimable again (as well as Seiryu). We tried to get people up as fast as we could. At one point, I sacrificed myself to keep Kirin from despawning by casting a spell on him. I died for it, but that bought us some time. Right when we got both Ninja's up to hold each God, they despawned.
In the end, I still must pat my fellow NAs on the back for a job well done, as they have successfully defeated one of the strongest HNMs in FFXI. As I said, the first battle went decently well. Based on the many times I've went thus far with my JP HNM Shell, I would have changed some things here and there. It could've went a lot smoother, but it was a learning experience. You can't expect to fight something like that and not run over a few bumps along the way. We beat him and that is all that matters. So to those of you that were involved, give yourself a pat on the back.
As I said, I think the 2nd battle went well too (up until we started making mistakes from panicking). Yes, you can say that 'Calling for Help' was the worst thing that could've happened, but I don't look at it that way. Mistakes happen. You shouldn't hang someone just over 1 mistake, especially a first time offence. I personally look at it as 2 victories, not 1 victory and 1 loss. Why? #1) We were doing just as well as the first try on the 2nd run up until the "mistake". #2) Many of us were in shock over the "mistake", so that ate away at precious time. But that is natural human response, especially to those that have never experienced that before (like a deer caught in headlights). Those of you that are probably busting out laughing right now, don't. That has happened to all of us, even me! #3) We recovered *damn* fast and everyone logged out like they were told to. People listened for the most part, which is an accomplishment in itself.
Many people left really upset, but hold your head up guys. There's always the next time, use this as a learning experience.
JP Kirin Battles: One word. Zzzzz. This is not an "elitist Japanese" post either. It wasn't easy just because they were Japanese players. I think the NAs on our server can do it just as well with practice. It was easy because of the fact that my LS as well as the other LS they teamed up with have fought Kirin dozens of times. I myself have been in on over 15+ Kirin fights and the actual Japanese players have fought him numbers way bigger than that. With about 2 alliances full (36-42) people, we can take Kirin out in under about 45 minutes. As I said when I first posted my first Kirin battle ever, the teamwork is uncanny. Down to the smallest detail, we have it all facets of this battle covered and can keep going. Even in the event that we do somehow get wiped (Stonega IV hits us as well as Astral Flow), nobody panics... ever. I am 100% sure that my friends in the NA HNM Linkshells (DrgnAsh & Ascension) can achieve this type of perfection if they do these battles on a more frequent basis. Ascension is supposed to try very soon, so I wish them the best of luck.
These were our drops from the past 2 weeks:
#1: Neptunal Body, Damascus Ingot
#2: Dryadic Body, Kirin's Pole, Orichalcum Ingot
#3: Kirin's Osode, Neptunal Body, Dryadic Body, Shining Cloth
Dynamis Windurst: I'll let you know in the morning.
Pardon the somewhat low quality (my desktop is not functioning at the moment, so I snagged the less-than-stellar-quality screenie off my laptop), but I remember seeing someone request a Mithra in RDM AF a page or so back, so I thought I'd provide it for them...

To amastacia: Thanks a bunch! That's what makes this thread great, when you readers help me out with request fills. They’re fulfilled in a timely manner so nobody leaves dissatisfied. Thanks again!
Promathia M3-4 & 3-5 - Part II
To those of you who are interested in these pics (Kyrial, CRtwenty, and Vilurum specifically), this is the moment you have been waiting for. I think this needs no introduction... Enjoy the shots everyone!
Damn ... sucks to lose a Kirin due to a misplaced CFH. Even if y'all did handle it well it must still have been extremely disappointing.
Well well well ... I had heard of the five terrestrial avatars but I hadn't heard them listed off. Having said that, since we can already summon two of them ... there's potential there. But I do know that there is no data for summoning them just yet. Then again, the same was true of Fenrir a year ago.
And of course, it makes me more curious as to those new quests with Leepe-Hoppe in Windurst. I really should track down those rare-ex items he wants, so I can see where the quest goes.
It seems practically every new Promathia quest either gives some insight into the mission plot (or characters involved therein), or forks over some useful item for fighting this or that mission boss, such as the one with fishing a muddy siredon in Carpenter's Landing or the one with the snoll cores in Uleguerand Range. (Or, the most commonly known, the recollection-into-anima guy in Ru'Lude Gardens, for Promyvion.)
This plot is going in some very interesting directions. I'm just hoping that "sky 2", as it were, does indeed have precious and useful enemy drops and NMs to fight, to motivate the less plot-oriented people to want to go there. (Naturally, so I can tag along and see the plot.)
Averter of the Apocalypse~
Unique quests complete: 330-something, keep losing count.
Mission plot lines complete: Windurst, Bastok, San d'Oria, Zilart, Promathia.
Maps not yet obtained: Promyvion-Dem, Promyvion-Mea, Promyvion-Holla, Promyvion-Vahzl, Sacrarium.

I know Ascension called for help back in the day when they were hunting oldschool NMs (Roc/Simurgh). Accidents do happen but what is more important is the way you handle it. If you blow your top and drill that person into the ground, you're not helping the situation and can even cause things to be worse.
Yeah, the Avatars being listed off was quite neat. However... Diabolos is based on "dreams". Based on the avatar fights and such, you got a taste of every ability that avatar had. When you fight Diabolos, he had Phalanx, sleepga, and defense down-type attacks. I seriously think that if he does become available, he will be near useless because Shiva has the sleepa ttack. Fenrir has the darkness-based attacks. Garuda/Titan has you covered for party-wide defense (blink/stoneskin). That leaves the Phalanx and Dia. Who would want to use an avatar for Dia when you have the real spell in I & II versions. Phalanx would be neat though, but limited usefulness, as Earthen Ward is all you need for a Ninja to recast utsusemi.
The thing about Fenrir though, was that he was in the dat files. His data was there, so people knew something was up. Unless S-E got smart and decided not to release future information in .dat files, then this wouldn't be the case. However, that hypothesis is wrong because there are stats for all the items & such, even before they were available.
As for the new quests regarding Leepe-Hoppe, hold out on those. If it is indeed key to unlocking new avatars, do NOT submit the items just yet. The reward if you do it now? Gil. Yup that's right, gil and nothing more. He doesn't give you anything else in regards to a new quest. Maybe perhaps they'll add it as a secondary quest from Leepe-Hoppe after you finish the Rare/EX item quest in the next patch. As of right now though, it is just gil. However, I do think Promathia has something for Summoners (as seen in the trailer), but I don't know if it is new avatars. Everyone stresses about new avatars but I think it could possibly be something to make your current avatar lineup more powerful. Maybe unlocking the final attacks used by the Avatar-Primes. All of this is speculation and I'm not really anticipating anything...
Hmmm... what happens if you choose the second choice when talking to Diabolos? It also looks like something really weird is going on in the cutscene, there's multiple Diabolos's and then you suddenly get teleported out...
That's the problem with screenshots, you can see the text easily, but it's generally hard to see the action going on...

There's nothing really weird. Diabolos splits into three while talking to you. As for teleporting out, he said just that. About the crystal... and then you black out. I'm showing you exactly what I see.
