Wow... lots of things to reply to. Sorry for no pictures yesterday, I was sick. I didn't even go into work because I didn't feel well. I know a lot of things happened over the weekend in terms of FFXI. The most incredible one, was the release of the three dragon HNMs. I'll get to that in a bit though...

Ahh, I can't wait to get started on the Promyvions! I'm gonna be doing either Holla or Mea on Wednesday, it looks like. I've actually got a question about that. Fal, what do you think would be more useful for Promyvion? THF/NIN, or THF/WAR? I could easily level WAR one more level in time, if need be. I was thinking Provoke+Perfect Dodge might come in handy in an emergency, and Aggressor might make up for the lack of a second weapon. But I just feel so naked without Utsusemi, even if I really shouldn't be getting hit. I'll obviously be bringing a sword, since I won't have Viper Bite in there, and Fast Blade is the next best thing (plus the sword I got has a +2 DEX ^^), and my sword skill is capped for that level. I was just wondering how useful either THF/NIN or THF/WAR would be. Or hell, even THF/MNK, though that seems a bit less useful.
To Kyrial: Hey Kyrial. The ideal job for this is Warrior/Ninja. I'm not sure if you have Warrior at level 30 (i'm assuming not). If you do not have WAR/NIN available, could you go as RNG/NIN? Again, I'm not quite sure of your jobs... If none of those are available, go as THF/NIN. Don't go as THF/WAR, as you have *no business* provoking and taking hate away from the tank. His provoke should be enough to bring the mob back. The Promyvion mobs hit *hard* at the later islands, its best to let your tank soak up the damage. I would suggest to you to just go as Thief/Ninja so you can Sneak Attack and then dodge the attacks with Utsusemi when you temporarily gain hate. If you have a 2nd tank, then you can at least SATA it up. Just do Thief/Ninja since you're most comfortable with that.

Hey Fal, its me Eragon. Perhaps you dont remember me, i posted on your thread approximately 30 pages ago, however i wanted to let you know that i am very dedicated to you and this thread in general. I think everyoe will agree with me when i say that i look forward to the latter part of my day to view your thread. What entices us all to your thread, are your awe inspiring pictures, your friendly attitude towards us all, and your willingness to introduce us to only a sample of the adventues that you have experienced.
Fal, sadly we cannot all be as outgoing as Lionheart, or Kyrial, but i assure you that we are all here for you. I know that you are a very humble person, and that is very honorable. However seeing you in that Crimon Sale Mail, with your Chappeau, and Genbu's Shield and Joyeuse, is truely on if not the most magnificent sights i have ever viewed in the game. Secondly, congratulations on your accomlishments as a RDM.
Now, down to bussiness. I have viewed quite a few recent threads about the introduction of 3 new dragon mobs into Vana'Diel. One being Tiamat, th other in Ranperres Tomb, and the oher in Ulenguard Rane(sp?). Seeing that you are in a very united, friendly, and powerful LS, i am expecting you to be going after them quite soon. Please fill me in any information you know about them, and please be sure to post screenies of them when you get to taking them down. Thanks again Fal, and i hope that your job is going well, as well as your online experience. Good luck on your journies everyone.

To Eragon: Man I'm touched Eragon. That was a very nice thing of you to say. I'm happy that I'm able to bring these screenshots to you guys. I'm just... speechless from your heartfelt comment. Thanks!
Speaking of those dragons, I think it's safe to say that all HNM LShells across *all* servers have went after these dragons. Upon waking up Saturday morning, I told my LS good morning. They said, come on! So I packed up my BLM gear and headed out to 'The Range'. These wyrms were just discovered, so you can guarantee that all the LShells on my server, both Japanese and NA went after these. There was talk in the LS that these guys are tough... Kirin tough and there were talks on the Japanese messageboards of needing several parties to kill him. However, we didn't have the members to do so but we wanted to test our mettle against Jormagund. Afterall, we've fought every HNM there is on the server up to this point with success, so why not? We tried two times and failed each time. Discouraged, a few of us stayed because after we pulled him first, other bigname Japanese Linkshells came and waited for their turn. We did "ok" in terms of survival but damn, these things are hard to chip off. All the BLMs were doing decent damage but that health bar was barely budging. Then we let another LS try, they suffered the same fate as we. Then a 3rd bigname JP LS came. They did quite well, as they had extras to substitute people. They got Jormagund down to 90% HP (quite a big feat). In the end, they suffered death because they ran out of Paladins. That was the last I saw of him for that day.
I do know that other Linkshells got together to try to kill them as an alliance, but I'm quite sure that there was no successes. I do have a couple of screenshots on these guys, so I'll post them in a bit. I think you just have to brute force these Wyrms. After all, we did get it to 95% with just 16 people. If we had enough members to substitute in and out (like we do for Kirin), then I think we could accomplish victory. I've not seen the other 2 dragons in person, but up at 'The Range', you have a problem with constant ice weather. This in turn forces Ice Elementals to spawn. Ice Elementals and the Snoll-type mobs aggro to magic. Well with these kind of HNMs, it is very hard to handle the HNM and aggro to VT or higher monsters. (Just imagine fighting Nidhogg when Darters aggro, that's what it was like here). We had a party dedicated to handling adds. I'm an Elvaan BLM, so I have considerable more HP than my Taru counterparts. The Snoll's self-destruct killed *me* doing 950 damage and wiped out all the Tarus in the vicinity. The remaining people had a sliver of health.
I do know we'll likely team up with other JP HNM Linkshells, because we've done so for all the HNMs. I know that there has been reports of LShells already beating one of these Wyrms. Alas, I can't do my duty as a member until the weekend rolls around. I'll post some screenshots up. I know you may be thinking "dammit, Fal is a mage, so we can't see this guy close up." Well trust me, you'll see him close up because he pulled me into him and took a bite out of my Elvaan ass. :spin:
To forster: Haha, so that's what you were doing! I was quite curious why you took a screenshot of me.
