Hmmm ... the song goes differently ... I wonder if the Zilart had changed it to make the version we knew before?

Isn't Riverne a level-capped area? If so, how do the hippogryphs there con? Hopefully they're strong, because I can't really picture IGE gil-farmers "farming" strong enemies. Their reputation for incompetence in parties is not born out of nothing.

Besides, can you really picture them even making it through the missions up to that point? If they don't even bother with genkais, I seriously doubt they'll bother with these. I may be arrogantly overconfident but I don't think there's too much of a risk, thankfully.

In the meantime ... I need to check prices.

To Vilurum: I think he meant that there were more verses to the song... Who knows... This expansion is very suspenseful.

Yes, Riverne is a level-capped area. #A01 is level 40 and #B01 is level 50 capped. To get to #A01, you need to be on Promathia Mission 2-5. To do #B01, you must be on Promathia 4-2. Regardless, there are Hippogryphs in both locations. They are tough on the first island and continue to get harder up to IT++ on the last island. Well... The IGE Gilfarmers are a little more competent than you give them credit for. But in general yes, they suck ass.

As for the prices... bad news Vil. The *only* Hippogryph Feather ever to be on our server sold today for a hefty price tag. How hefty? Well, one user told me their server reported 400K for their Hippogryph Feather. Ours? It sold for 800K. Ouch huh? Looks like the seller set the price for the rest to follow (unless we get too many in stock). The 2 Sha'ir pieces that will use the feather will be about 1 million to start out with based on that price alone.

To CRtwenty: Hahha. You give me too much credit. I'm flattered! :spin:

I am in the process of uploading about 115 files to the server tonight. Expect an update (or several) updates tomorrow. Yes... all 115 files are of Mission 2-5. This place is very cool... almost rivals Ru'Aun Gardens.

    • Got the hands for 85K, and if I can't ever get the head, well ... it's not as good as the Opo-opo Crown I already have anyway. We'll have to see what happens with the other pieces. Taffeta, Cashmere ... about the song, differences are highlighted in bold:

The one we know from Zilart goes like this:

It all began with a stone, or so the legend says.
In ages past, a sentient jewel, enormous and beautiful, banished the darkness.
Its many-colored light filled the world with life and brought forth mighty gods.
Bathed in that light, the world entered an age of bliss until, after a time, the gods fell into slumber.
      That world was called Vana'diel.

However, this age will not last.
The great bane will devour the fair land of Vana'diel.
The ancient seal will be broken, awakening nightmares of ages past.
The blood of innocents will soak the earth, and the world will fall into fear and despair.
But as one bright star shines through the clouds at night...
And as one song rings clear above the roar of beasts...
We hold to one hope in these darkest of times.

(What comes after that depends on where in the Zilart plot you are.)

      Promathia version from your screenshot:

It all began with a stone, or so the legend says.
In ages past, a sentient jewel, enormous and beautiful, banished the darkness.
Its many-colored light filled the world with life and brought forth mighty gods.

      That world was called Vana'diel.

However, this age will not last.
The great bane will devour the fair land of Vana'diel.
The ancient seal will be broken, awakening nightmares of ages past.
A tragic age of darkness will reign.
And yet, the gods will not wake from their slumber...
      That world was called Vana'diel.

It's almost the same, but it ends the second verse differently.

EDIT: Having just logged back on to double-check ... the first verse (identical to both) is also read aloud in the opening movie for the game. Which is something I've not watched for many months because it's so depressing (despite "Mathilde" in Selbina), but ... it's fairly interesting to watch it in light of CoP.

Btw, does anything come of that NPC who mentions the girl Emmeline?

            • Promathia M2-5 - Part I
This is the area I was talking about... It reminds me of the Floating Continent for those of you that played FF3 (FF6 Japanese Ver). This place is so cool! I think the whole "land floating in the sky" thing just fascinates me. When I saw Ru'Aun Gardens for the first time, my jaw dropped. There's no structures up at Riverne but it is very peaceful. Perfect place for a picnic with that special someone! :spin:

There's really not much to say... I had a very competent group of friends with me who already accomplished it, so the first battle was a win. I have heard horror stories about this BCNM though. Medicines do help a great deal (for both mages and melee). We did have two people die, so that kind of sucked.

I guess... let's start with the pictures now huh? These took me a while to edit for text (113 of them!) I almost had 2nd thoughts of posting the rest of these but then I thought... it's for my friends at FFXIOnline! Since there are so many, I'll have to split these in four parts. The first is M2-5 Cutscene, 2nd is journeying through Riverne Site #A01, 3rd is the cutscene + BCNM, and 4th is cutscene after BCNM. Anyway, the usual warning...

                    • Yay, more Prishe! =^.^ = Those cutscenes were awesome! ^_^ The one with Nag'molada and Ulmia was especially interesting.

As for Prishe, she may be bratty and arrogant, but I dunno, I guess I like some characters like that. Prishe amuses me to no end. And physical appearance-wise, she's just plain adorable. Finally a cute Elvaan! (Ulmia is hot, not cute; there's a difference, as I'm sure Fal knows ) And I suspected right from the beginning that she wasn't really a kid. Just like I assumed right away about Eald'narche.

Ahh, I can't wait to get started on the Promyvions! I'm gonna be doing either Holla or Mea on Wednesday, it looks like. I've actually got a question about that. Fal, what do you think would be more useful for Promyvion? THF/NIN, or THF/WAR? I could easily level WAR one more level in time, if need be. I was thinking Provoke+Perfect Dodge might come in handy in an emergency, and Aggressor might make up for the lack of a second weapon. But I just feel so naked without Utsusemi, even if I really shouldn't be getting hit. I'll obviously be bringing a sword, since I won't have Viper Bite in there, and Fast Blade is the next best thing (plus the sword I got has a +2 DEX ^^), and my sword skill is capped for that level. I was just wondering how useful either THF/NIN or THF/WAR would be. Or hell, even THF/MNK, though that seems a bit less useful.

                      • Faluzure-the epic tale

Hey Fal, its me Eragon. Perhaps you dont remember me, i posted on your thread approximately 30 pages ago, however i wanted to let you know that i am very dedicated to you and this thread in general. I think everyoe will agree with me when i say that i look forward to the latter part of my day to view your thread. What entices us all to your thread, are your awe inspiring pictures, your friendly attitude towards us all, and your willingness to introduce us to only a sample of the adventues that you have experienced.

Fal, sadly we cannot all be as outgoing as Lionheart, or Kyrial, but i assure you that we are all here for you. I know that you are a very humble person, and that is very honorable. However seeing you in that Crimon Sale Mail, with your Chappeau, and Genbu's Shield and Joyeuse, is truely on if not the most magnificent sights i have ever viewed in the game. Secondly, congratulations on your accomlishments as a RDM.

Now, down to bussiness. I have viewed quite a few recent threads about the introduction of 3 new dragon mobs into Vana'Diel. One being Tiamat, th other in Ranperres Tomb, and the oher in Ulenguard Rane(sp?). Seeing that you are in a very united, friendly, and powerful LS, i am expecting you to be going after them quite soon. Please fill me in any information you know about them, and please be sure to post screenies of them when you get to taking them down. Thanks again Fal, and i hope that your job is going well, as well as your online experience. Good luck on your journies everyone.

                        • Rumor has it that every respectable HNM LS on our server has already taken a crack at at least one of those dragons ... let's just say the dragons are still spawned. It'll probably take some time before even the best HNM LS's get the strategy and organization (and for all I know membership - you may need to do a lot of member swapping) to be able to beat these.

Kyrial, I'd suggest THF/NIN, as promyvion and its bosses are extremely AOE-happy. WAR/NIN is generally considered "ideal" (can blink, can voke, can tank, can dish out damage), but unless you wanna level your WAR to 30 first, go as THF/NIN. The ability to blink is gonna be more useful than the ability to voke.
