Yeah, I really need to do those missions, but is a SAM really needed at all? I heard melee isn't really that great because of the AoE. But anyway, you made it seem easy as usual, keep up the good work.Trys - 67 BRD/WHM - Ragnarok (Active)

Vil the information leech, as always, would never turn down specifics of Promyvion strategies and boss strategies, but if you don't wanna go into that, that's cool too - the plot pictures are more than enough. Thanks for those, and I guess you're waiting for enough replies to go onto the next page before you post the rest. (So here's one more reply.)
As for being behind ... the same could be said for many people when it came to Zilart missions or country missions. And yet people can still organize getting those done even now that many many people have already finished them. There will always be people willing to repeat missions to help others, and there will always be the new people who also need to do them for themselves.
Besides, from what I hear you apparently have to wait for the next version update to get to (or was it past?) chapter 6 anyway. So as far as catching up goes, you have until the next update. It also seems a number of the new quests (many of which have plot) leave dangling plot threads as of now as well.
(Which reminds me - if by some catastrophe you actually get bored and run out of stuff to post, you can probably keep your audiences entertained for a few days with quest cutscenes from the new quests or possibly even the old quests. After all, how many people have been through the whole plotline of the Star Onion Brigade for example? That involves three rare-ex item drops (Star Spinel, Toraimarai Coffer Key - also finding its coffer - and Shoalweed) and beating Fenrir after getting Windurst rank 10. A Timely Visit would also be another really good one to post, though I know a lot of people have probably done that one since it's relatively easy.)Averter of the Apocalypse~
Unique quests complete: 330-something, keep losing count.
Mission plot lines complete: Windurst, Bastok, San d'Oria, Zilart, Promathia.
Maps not yet obtained: Promyvion-Dem, Promyvion-Mea, Promyvion-Holla, Promyvion-Vahzl, Sacrarium.

To balz: Thanks man. I'm glad you like them. I'll post another Promyvion today.

To Marvul: Well. It really depends. If you do it with just 6 people like I did, then no.. there is no place for a Samurai. However, if you go in as a big alliance, then the more the merrier. You can kill things a lot faster in a group than you can with 1 PT. AOE is a big problem, just have plenty of healers if you do get hit with it.

To Vilurum: Well. The strategy for all the Promyvion on Chapter one is the same. There are four islands. The last island contains the "Spire" you have to get to before the start of the BCNM. The mobs on the first island are pretty easy. As you progress, the mobs get harder. To jump from one island to the other, you need kill a glowing orb called a Memory Receptacle. You'll know it when you see it because it is just a big floating white orb that sits in the middle of a square structure. Well, these Memory Receptacles drop these floating mobs called Strays. The speed in which they drop depends on which island you're on. When you kill this Memory Receptacle, it may or may not open a portal to the next island. It seems totally random on which one is the correct one. So.. the 1st island has 1 Memory Receptacle spawn, the 2nd island has two, the 3rd island has three.
Here's the catch. The *minute* you kill the Memory Receptacle and it holds the portal, it will appear. However, if *any* Strays are left, you must be *very* careful. If they attack you and hit you while you are trying to jump to the next island, you're jump will be cancelled and you will be left on that island. It is very important to either immobilize the Strays or kill them all because it takes about 5 seconds to jump to the next island. If anyone is left behind, you must portal back to the previous island (the portal back is located at the start of each island).
Now here's the funny part... Thanks to a certain group of NA players on my server who were at the same Promyvion, this upcoming set of Promyvion shots took us 3 hours instead of 1 hour like all the others. My PT was doing their thing, killing the Receptacle by ourselves. We have our strategy that has worked flawlessly to help us get through each Promyvion. Well, since we claimed the Receptacle, they just sat and waited behind us. As the portal appeared, we were working on immobilizing all the extra strays. I slept a few, the red mage slept a few. The rangers used sleep bolts. Sleep doesn't last long so it is important that you try to sleep as many as you can that may aggro. Well these genius NA players all started running towards the portal. Of course, not all the strays were slept so they aggro'd them. The ones that we put to sleep then woke up. Well the other group just started provoking and attacking any stray they could. The ones that were put to sleep came after us (because of the hate), but the other group provoked a couple of ours. So we had the hate, we were getting smacked and we couldn't put them back to sleep (they were already claimed). Three of us died because we couldn't portal through and half of the NA alliance were left behind because they couldn't portal. I'm not as angry as I was when it happened... but please please...those of you that are going to do Promyvion, keep in mind of the other parties that are there... There is no restriction to how many people can go, so if you see someone killing a Memory Receptacle, at least try to kill the strays that spawn to help out. If you see the portal spawn and there are tons of strays left, don't just run out there! Anyone attacked cannot portal and will likely die. Make sure it is safe for all of you to portal.
As for the help with the Missions, I know I can always find people doing them... but again.. you still see shouts for only Promyvion from the NA players. You never see shouts for the later chapters because many people haven't been there yet. Those that do need help usually go with their linkshell. It is just a hassle because I do see the Japanese shouts, but only on the weekends. I'm sure I can get through them, but not as often as I would like.
Hmm...really? It stops at/near Chapter 6? Well, I guess that makes sense since Zilart was the same way. They unlocked a set of Zilart Missions as each update came out. Still.. Chapter 6 is a long way away. I shouldn't worry, updates seem to come every 2 months so I expect one near Christmas time. I should surely get to Chapter 6 by then. Anyway, I'll post the next shots in a bit.Character: Faluzure

Promyvion-Dem
Here's the new set. Thanks to gungus for posting the 14th post. This Promyvion took the longest out of the three. As I said earlier, they normally just take 1 hour with a 6-person party. However, it did not take us longer because of the difficulty. Rather, it was due to another group of players who nearly screwed it up for my PT (read my previous post to Vilurum on what happened). Anyway, this set is somewhat small, so I may double up Promyvion-Holla on the same page later on. Time for lunch!
As usual...

Damn! I'm really starting to get drawn into this story! Maybe I'll get a chance to try it this weekend. And anything with Ayame in it is a definite plus! Good stuff!
Question about the fights for you Fal; have you used the Anima's that weaken the bosses of each Promyvion? I've read some information concerning them and how they make the fight easier, but I'm curious about how difficult the fights are without using them. I got a good idea from Nerv's wonderful post, do you have a take on the fight with or without using Anima items?

To MrADC: I've heard of the animas that do detrimental effects to the Empty. It was even talked about it by my PT about it but we opted not to use them. As the screenshots have shown, we did totally fine without them. The fights were fairly easy too. If you do choose to go and do it with a small party, Rangers are a must in your PT.Character: Faluzure

As usual great shots! I have a question though...that cutscene with Ayame, Wolfgang and Cid, where did that take place? I went in to Promyvion-Dem first for fun with some friends but didn't get that scene.
To jotroge: Hmm. The order I went in was Mea, Dem, and Holla. Cid, Wolfgang, and Ayame were at the Dem Crag. I know that no matter which Promyvion you go to for the first one, it is the same cutscene (you end up in the Hall of Transferrence). I know that the 3rd Promyvion you go to, it will give you the same cutscene before the new area.
However, you brought up a good point. Does the NPC change depending on which crag you go to for the 2nd Promyvion? I know Ayame and Cid are related to Bastok, which is why I got them when I went to Promyvion-Dem for my 2nd. Do you get a different NPC group if you go to Mea (or Holla) for the 2nd Promyvion?Character: Faluzure

Oooh, those ones were even cooler than the last one. ^^ I wonder about the cutscenes.... I'll try and do Mea second when I do the Promyvions. Maybe I'll get a cutscene with Ajido-Marujido! *is his biggest fan*
