I really must ask a friend of mine who used to play on Que-jdsjdeei if they knew who you were. They quit long ago, level 60-ish DRG Female. I really must find out the name they played under though.

I get made fun of because we both started playing at the same time, and they quit months ago and they're character is still higher than mine is. But I make fun of them for not going to Midgardsormr and playing with the Goons. BWAHAHA!!

Really, I enjoy the shots very much! They put mine to shame! I look forward to updates.

I hope you don't mean Vampi... Vampi was the only high level NA Dragoon (female) that existed a few months ago and well... Some things are just better left unsaid.

It's BYAKKO TIME!
Yup. My LS asks me to help them to kill Byakko because one of the LS members needs what he drops. Of course I tell them yes (even though Byakko doesn't drop anything I need) because it supplies me with a nice supply of pictures for FFXIOnline. We attacked him twice, but I only took a SS of one of the fights.

Byakko seems to be tougher than Genbu is. Probably because he's so fast compared to slow Genbu. Plus he's got a killer attack that can knock a Paladin dead if his/her health meter is yellow. We took about 22 people with us so we could swap out players during mid fight. We had three Paladins and we swapped them out but they all died at least once (one deleveled to 74). One of the battles was scary because we lost all three Paladins and Byakko was running around attacking random people (as you'll see in the pictures). Normally my screenshots aren't as good as Nerv's because I'm not in the front lines but you get a nice closeup of Byakko whacking at people. All the mages could do at that moment was nuke as fast in hopes of killing him because nobody was strong enough to hold the hate.

Anyway, I took a couple more scenery shots too, so this should please To Eyes of All. I think some of these are wallpaper worthy, so if you need any let me know.

Awesome pics, Fal. ^^ That must've been hella scary when Byakko ran up and attacked the mages. That Byakko's Haidate looks like it would be sooo good for a THF or DRK; too bad they can't use it.

Still being a fairly new NA FFXI player, I never expected to enjoy this experience as much as I am. And now seeing pics of a beast like Byakko and knowing that there are so many more Weapon-like special monsters (BCNM's I believe) out there really gets me excited over the future battles to come.

And one things for sure, Faluzure, all the screens you've put up are excellent and greatly appreciated. You're still going strong, and I always look forward to seeing what else is in store with your pics.

Great pics, as always. I have a question about HNM fights. how helpful are RDM in them? I noticed that your LS has some RDMs in it, but I'm wondering what they do during battle. Are they just there to dole out Refresh and perhaps give a back-up heal or two? Do they use Spirits Within on some of those tougher HNMs? Also, what kind of gear do they use? I thought I saw a couple with a Vermillion Cloak. Are RDM even capapble of sticking enfeebles against HNM?

To Vandle, Vairu, ashirys, MrADC, Kyrial: Thanks for the compliments. I know I've said it in the past, but it really means a lot.


To DM337: In HNM fights, we usually have 1-2 RDMs in the group. They are primarily in either the mage group or the melee group. Their purpose is to cast Refresh, do back up healing (our tanks lose health BIGTIME, so its always good to blow mana on healing, even if the WHM is already spamming Cure V), and to do certain enfeeblements (like Gravity for example on King Behemoth). They occasionally do a burst, but their mana is much better spent casting refresh on every mage in the party as well as healing those who need it. Other than that, there aren't that many that come with us to do the HNM stuff. This is why the # of reds in my LS is a pretty low number, but they are valued nevertheless.

As for Spirits Within, yes they do actually. When fighting Genbu/Byakko, etc. The melee capable members all get their TP to 300%. The Paladins & the rest of the 1 Handed Sword bunch use Spirits Within at the start. The gear, I've seen all our RDMs still use AF, since it is sufficient for their jobs. Only one Red Mage in my LS has something elseand that's the Crimson Scale Armor (Cursed AF).

As for enfeebles sticking on HNMs, they have the best chance of sticking, but it doesn't stay for long.


To zairam: Hmm. I haven't been with a Ranger in a *long* time as BLM. I may have posted pics in the past pags, but 30+ pages is a lot to filter through. I'll try to look through my archives and check. Anyway, because I'm at the peak of my level for BLM and there's no reason for me to go gain experience. Since I'm leveling up Red Mage & White Mage, I'm sure to run into them now. I'll keep a look out, so check back every once in a while if I don't post anything.

Heh, I saw you last night in Jeuno, Fal. I was about to go wave to you, but then you used Teleport-Yhoat before I could see where you were (I just knew you were nearby because you bowed to someone in an emote). Must be nice having those Teleport spells... I'm tempted to lvl WHM just for those, 'cause I'm lazy. :sweat: But those would take too high a lvl for my liking, so I'm thinking I'm gonna lvl BLM to 17 for Warp once I get to lvl 34. ^^ Anyway, can't wait for your next batch of pics! :D
