Oh btw, My LS and some others killed "Roc" Yesterday, It was the biggest rush job ever, My Alliance came out of Garliage after doing THF AF3 and Roc was there, We told our other LS members and they ran down to us asap, Our PLD then provoked it and took it down to them, Because as you know its up on a unreachable place. It was the best fun ive had in ffxi yet >_< . The fight went for about 20 mins, Full Alliance of 54-68's Not 1 lvl 70+ , But we had about 5 THF's that Ping ponged the hate back and forth from the PLD's that nearly died about 3 times each, Me being probly the lowest THF 55. A JP LS was watching us waiting for us to die :p , It didnt drop the staff tho, Only the Crimson Blade/sword. ^^
Didnt have Fraps open Had to use the Default SS.
Only 2 PLD's died at the end, so not a bad effort for a rushed no strategy HNM job, hehe.

To Vandle: Congrats on spanking Roc! That's quite a feat for an alliance of 54-68. Now you know what I was talking about (back earlier when I said at high levels, most of your time will be spent hunting NM/HNMs.) It's really fun and now that you got a taste of it, I'm sure you want to hunt down more. To Alaindra: Your welcome! I'm glad you were pleased with the pics. Sorry I didn't have any Elvaan females though.


To Elaron: My GFX card is an ATi Radeon 9800 Pro. Its pretty much the 2nd best card you can get (besides the XT series) right now. ATi & Nvidia are about to release new video cards though within a month or so.

Since you're getting a new computer, pretty much a 9700 Pro or better will handle FFXI well. While FFXI requires a decent videocard, I'd stress more on getting a fast CPU. My friend has an ATi 9600 but a P4 3.2Ghz. His game runs faster & smoother than mine (mainly because FFXI is a CPU hog because of all the characters that are onscreen, especially at the moghouse). I have a rinky dink CPU but I'll get a new system soon also.


To SamuraiX: The green armor that the WHM is wearing is the Dalmatica (from the Cursed Dalmatica). Its a "Cursed" Artifact armor that can only be worn when combined with an abjuration. As for the red armor the DRK is wearing, I *think* its the Crimson Scale Mail (also a cursed AF armor). I personally don't examine Japanese players, so I can't be certain. (Note: Please don't get into the debate over examining people. I do it because I want to, ok?) I'll ask her next time I see her (she's in my LS and I see her on a daily basis).

Hmm. I already recall replying to you in private message, so maybe you haven't read my reply yet.

It may be different on other servers, but I can definitely tell you how it is on my server. BST has no real place in any BCNM higher than 40 because there isn't anything you can charm. All the mobs for BCNM 50 & higher are actual beastmen. Charm is useless. Even for BCNM 40 the success rate is much lower than if you had an optimal & efficient party.

For higher levels, the easiest BCNM is BCNM 60. By then you have a good array of abilities & spells that can make this a breeze. So you definitely wont find any BST in any BCNM 60 that I (or my LS) normally do.

As for BSTs in my party/alliances on the adventures I go on, there isn't a place for a BST. BST is somewhat of a novelty job, especially for Missions & HNM hunts. For missions/NM/HNMs, you normally fight an NM. You can't charm NMs and even if you could charm the mobs around the NM, it wouldn't be really helpful. NMs are very tough with high amount of HP. You want damage to be dealt most of all. The BST isn't exactly known for dealing tons of damage even with the mobs he can charm. As for using BST as a pure melee job, there are other jobs that are better suited for this. Why get a BST when there are a multitude of other speficially trained jobs for this, such as WAR, THF, DRK, etc. Tanking as a BST is definitely out of the question.

I can find pics of BSTs for you, but nothing in missions, HNM, or BCNM hunts. Its just not feasible. As I said in the PM to you, I haven't played with a BST in months. Simply because nearly all BSTs play it solo. None of my LS members are BSTs and all the BSTs I know that are Japanese just play it to kill time or to solo. Its not their main job.

As for general BCNM pics, I can post those. But if you're expecting to find some with BSTs, I can't help you. Maybe someone else who reads this thread can help. Sorry

I have some questions for you, hope you dont mind.

You seem to have been lvl 70+ for some time now, and I wonder about your experiences with SAMs in different situations at these higher levels (NMs, HNMs, BCNMs etc). As a BLM you should love them?

Ive just seen SAM on a couple of your screenshots.

Another question, do you have any advice to how to find a HNM linkshell? Im "only" 51 SAM/WAR right now but im higher than most ppl in my LS.

Picture #1: I believe it's the Hauberk (because there's a DRK in my JP LS that wears the same body & he's level 75). In that picture, the player is wearing Warrior AF legs. So its a dead giveaway.
