  • Oh yeah, and as for the new way of posting, it seems to be slower. I like the old way better, but like you say, for others it can cause loading problems. But I like it the old way.

    • Sorry, sorry. I haven't been able to play much FFXI at all for the past 2 weeks. I had to pack up & move to a new apartment. Everything's settled down a bit, so I'll get back to posting cool screenshots. I don't have much right now, but expect them soon.

As for my arrows, I have the JP version of the game. Mm.. I don't think I have any other questions to answer, so I'll be on my way.

Just general SSs. I especially like the Boyahda Tree waterfall area. Expect more later.

        ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I posted about this a few pages back, about how there is really no difference between a Taru BLM & an Elvaan BLM at high level. This SS set here shows that. My PT set up a Fragmentation Renkei, and the taru BLM and I casted Thunder III. As you can see, I did 632 points of damage while the taru BLM did 343. Normally, the Taru, does anywhere from 10 more to 100 damage on average more than I do. However in random cases, the spread can be up to 300+ points of damage for either BLM.

So those of you who aren't Taru but want to consider a caster job, feel free.

        ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Expect more SSs to come soon.

              • Mm.. I don't think I have any other questions to answer, so I'll be on my way.
Um, you missed my question. A very important one and one I've been waiting for. :p

Hey Faluzure (or someone else), you may be able to answer this:

I recently downloaded FRAPs 1.9D, not 2.0 cuz I don't have "SSE Instructions".

But anyhow, when I use the 1.9D program, I assign a key to Screen capture. I have the movie option turned off, but when I ever I head into the game and try to a take a screeny, it apparently doesn't work. I go back to the file where it saves the shots and it seems to be making a movie, as there are lots of random pics, but it doesn't even save the shot I'm *attempting* to take.

Has anyone had this problem? I can't figure it out. Any help/suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

                      Menkhor:
Ahh sorry. Hm.. I don't use 1.9D. I'm not sure how much different it is via GUI. I guess check your file paths. Just point both movies & files to save in the same directory (that way, you don't have to go looking at 2 places at once). Secondly, dont turn the movie option off. The software could be buggy. Just assign it to a different key. Then assign the capture screen key as another key. I wouldnt' suggest using print screen or anything, since FFXI already uses it. I mapped my keys to the following: F11 = Movie, F12 = Screenshots. Try doing that.

                      As for Petey488:
I'm not sure what that particular WAR's sub was, but I can tell you a breakdown of what I've seen at my level. Typically at this level, WAR jobs have either a SAM, THF, WHM, or NIN subjob. Every WAR (all JP so far) at this level usually changes their subjob depending on the party configuration. Here's a breakdown of why they pick the subjobs I've listed.

WAR/SAM: Basically the middle man for Skillchains (pure SAM replacement). WAR/SAM at low levels stink because of the lack of meditate. However at high level, they gain TP nearly as quickly as SAM jobs. This allows them to chain with both melee classes in my PT (usually 3 mage, 3 melee). I can double the burst with this combo.

WAR/THF: The replacement for high damage output if a pure THF is not available. Trick + Sneak on a Paladin tank is just as deadly as a THF main (given the right skillchain)

WAR/WHM: If the party config already has high damage output & fast skillchains (example, PLD, THF, WAR party) , the WAR will sub WHM just to heal themselves when the battles get rough & the mages are already occupied. This combo is the least common.

WAR/NIN: Basically the PLD or NIN replacement. At this level, PLD main tank or NIN main tank is priority. If they arent available, the next option is for a tank is WAR/NIN. The ability to use Utsusemi: Ichi (Ninja's Blink) to tank is the primary reason to do this.

                      Hope this helps.

You've already seen the sequence in diff screenshots. Its a high level monk using the Dragon Kick weapon skill. I already received a comment from another monk who thought it was cool. So I made an animation for you to show you what it looks like..

I would've made it Motion JPEG but you require a codec for it. I could've made it a video, but then it technically wouldn't be a screenshot anymore. The only choice I had (given my break at work) was to make it animated gif. Sorry for the ugly dithering. Hope you like it nevertheless.
