just wondered about rdm/nin. that's all. i too will lvl up nin when i hit 74-75.

and rdm/drk, you're right. haste+rdm fast cast = lots o stuns

remember kids. /whm, /blm, or /smn if you're lvling rdm. all others are crap.

There's only 1 person that I've seen on my server who has gotten this item and it is a Japanese person (obviously due to where it drops). I have no picture of him. Sorry, maybe someone else can post it.

I just wanted to make sure I was playing right, by not meleeing at my level, one person tried telling me upper level RDMs do it all the time, this person was also a DRK/BLM who planned on taking the combo to 75, so I didn't place much faith in it.

I'm not saying I'm the master of Red Mage or anything like that. So take my opinions with a grain of salt. I just know the way I have been playing RDM has been complimented by both NA players and JP players alike on frequent occasions. During a Dynamis hunt, one guy I know believes I play RDM so well, he actually believes that had I been in his party/alliance, he wouldn't have died. So I am at least doing something right, you know? If you want to get up there with the melees, then do so. Do what you want to do in this game, but don't expect your party members to not bitch about it. Also, don't expect to be as efficient as you would be had you chose not to get in the front line.

You also have to look at your PT config and your role in the party. The Red Mage's job is very versatile. There's a reason they are called jack of all trades. I believe a RDMs job is a very "busy" job. I've played black, white and summoner and I can easily say red mage is a fast paced job. You can easily replace (to an extent) a bard, white mage, or black mage in most cases. If you're a red seeking PT and a party has a slot for either one of those 3 jobs, expect to get invited. They'll tell you what they need in terms of party role. Your role will always change (unless you're in a static), thus you need to be able to adapt.

I've done my share of soloing in PTs. Again, as I've leveled up, I've adapted to certain situations to know when to and when not to. If you choose to do it, you want to stay away from those mobs that have an AoE attack or ability. Example, you can help your melees fight beetles and crawlers (avoid the sticky thread & poison though). However, you cannot expect to be just as effective vs flies, anticas, or even crabs. Flies have Chaos orb & crabs have such high defense as well as AOE STR down, you won't be doing much. As for antica? Unless you wanna blow money on Echo Drops... have fun getting silenced and stunned. There are many more mobs you have to watch out for.

If you are doing it for the sake of skilling up.. Do your party a favor and don't. Do it on your own time or during coffer key hunts or skill up parties. My sword is at 215 right now and I'm level 73. I can guarantee you that my sword skill didn't come from XP parties, but soloing on my own with phalanx+stoneskin.

As for my elemental staff... I just bought a Wind Staff yesterday :p My mission to get them all is almost complete. I just need Water, Earth, and Fire. Oh and btw, they are all HQ Ka1'E1....

Hey Falazure, thanks for the crystal images. I can't get over the whole crystal-synthesis thing (mainly how you have to use a crystal that does a certain thing [fire crystal-heat] rationally to make things [melt down tin and copper to make bronze]).

I mean powerleveling. For a skilled player like you you could lv war sub really quickly and then work drk, nin. I know some don't like the idea of PL but i just can't take leveling any other jobs now >< Leveling areas up to Cralwers are not safe now. In my LS if we have some time, we help eachother level subs/other jobs or make parties for them and inviting J people too. Just because of fear about noobs my blm sub is underleveled still >< But im slowly raising it.

David_Lital: NP about the crystals man. Sorry it took so long. Hope you find a cool use for them. Its kind of neat how the crystals are used to synth certain items in a logical fashion. IE: Water for all sorts of drinks, etc.

(HQ: Mahatma Houppelande). It is a level 72 Mage/Support Armor. Some consider it "JSE" but it's JSE for several jobs. As you can see it has support capabilities for several jobs (WHM/BLM/RDM/BRD/SMN)

Gokulos: I have been offered to be power leveled by quite a few people actually. Some of them offered it for free. However I don't want to force people into that sort of situation because PL sucks (especially for the person that's healing you). Plus (depending on the person) they'll expect favors from you in return. Example: "I'll powerlevel you if you help me farm." Farming sucks even worse than powerleveling!

Well. A friend asked me once. I did it.. and I didn't find it very fun... That's why I would rather not ask someone to do it for me unless they offer otherwise.
