To atris: What I did was based on how I felt Elvaan BLMs should play at the time. Now that I look back, I don't think I would change much (if anything) at all. For low level Elvaans, I used mostly MP+ equipment because as you can tell, Elvaans are seriously gimped on the MP pool issue. At such a low level, there is absolutely *no* way you can match a Taru on INT. So instead of stocking up on INT items and causings your parties to have to wait on you longer they they should, you can equip MP+ items. The RSE really helps in giving you a mana boost. So if you can get these, especially gloves/feet, I would advise it. As for food, I'd go for Pumpkin until you get your AF. From there, you have a decent mana pool and can start swapping your MP+ equipment for INT+. Pineapple juices should be the standard drink and can last you a while until you can start buying Yagudo or Melon Juices. If I remember correctly, I used my RSE until I got my BLM AF. When you hit the higher levels, be sure to get good equipment because if you do, the gap between you and the Tarus will start getting smaller based on the mobs you fight.

Oh, dang I didn't see you type about the Master Caster's Pole. Well. You have to look at both. I have the Master Caster's Pole and not the Dark Staff. Why? Well... back then, I was one of the few high level NA players. Most of the NA PC players around that time were in their 30s. So all the elemental ore staves were going for megabucks because the only people that would buy them were Japanese players or importers. So the price could stay high. If you don't remember, check how much I bought the Ice Staff for. I think it was around 650,000. The Dark Staff was about 800,000 at the time. I couldn't afford that at all. Right now on my server, Ices are 200,000 and Darks are 540,000. On the other hand, the Master Caster's Pole is 80K. Yeah its a lot cheaper, but I'll warn you. If you can make it to 72 (which is the requirement for that staff), without the MP healing, then you can wait but you may have to rest in certain situations. The Dark is usable at 51. Its your choice... However I wish I did buy a Dark Staff because it can be totally useful for my other jobs I'm currently pursuing.

This actually happened yesterday. I took half a day off of work to be able to actually go on the HNM hunt with my LS. I'm not sure how long they've been trying, but they took me to actually see this legendary beast. We lost the pull (there were 2 other level 75 alliances there), but we stuck around and checked out the battle for a little bit. This guy is awesome.. I'm glad to be able to show you guys finally!

PS: Excuse the low-res... I was messing with FFXI settings the other day because it was running really slow. It ended up the problem was something else and I forgot to change it back...

What he said, Altho the other Res isnt to bad, This one seems to have better quallity then the others, There all great though.
