Help please Faluzure

Hey man. Im new to the forums. May i just say i absolutely love what you guys have going on here. Its like a second community next to Vana Diel. Well also i would like to congratulate you on those awesome picks. I could only someday hope to fulfill the FFXI experience to the fulness with wich you live it. Also i have a quick question im hoping u can answer for me. I am currently a 45 RNG/ 22 NIN on Lakshmi. From what ive seen on this thread pertaining to the pics, apparently Rng isnt used a lot in HNM or BCNM fights. Im beginning to get a little worried as im feeling that my Elvaan Ranger is going to waste if all that will happen in the future is that he will gather dust. Can you help me out with this. Your input would be greately appreciated. Thank you.

To Fafnyr: You (and the rest of you readers of my thread) have to realize that what I go through is just a small sample of what you can experience through FFXI. The pictures I post are based off one LS and their experiences only. Despite seeing only PLD, NIN, THF, DRK, and WAR as the only main melee and SMN, BLM, WHM, RDM, BRD as support, that doesn't mean that those are the only jobs that are good for these types of things.

For me to tell you "no there is no place for you" is like me trying to tell you how to drive in a Rally Car Race. Sure I know the fundamentals of driving a car, but I'm not qualified to teach you driving in rally racing because I never have. The same applies to FFXI. My point is, I can't give you a real answer because I haven't experienced it. If I did, that would make my comments as a fellow FFXI player invalid and I would lose credibility. Losing credibility is the worst thing that can happen here because a lot of people look up to me for answers. Instead of giving you a false answer so I can assume that position as "mentor", I would rather flat out tell you "I don't know". Most of my comments on forums on battle tactics, strategies, etc are based on what I have first hand experience in. But because I've only experienced so much doesn't mean that's the only way to do something.

I think for missions & BCNM, you shouldn't have a problem. These can be done at any time as long as you gather a strong party foundation to do them with. BCNM60 is great money (given that you have the beastmen seals). Only 3 jobs are really a necessity in most (not all) BCNM/Missions: PLD, WHM, and secondary healer. The other can be filled with whatever job you want. I'm assuming that your main worries is over HNM particularly, because that's pretty much the "ultimate end of the game" thing to do unless you level up other jobs. As for this, I'm not sure what to tell you. I do know that Rangers are useful for the King Behemoth fight because its basically a marathon race (as I believe StarvingArtist once said). The tactic for KB is run as much as you can, keep KB moving & off the mages. If meteor is cast, move away. Chip off any damage you can from him when you can. This is a reason why BLMs are so good because they cast a couple IV & III spells and then run away. A couple of the time I watched the KB fights, I saw a ranger or 2 shooting KB alongside the BLMs. As for the others (Genbu, Seiryu, Byakko, Aspidochelone, etc.) I saw no Ranger.

Don't be discouraged though, as I said I only know the experiences of my LS. There's other bigname level 70+ on these boards that can probably give you more comment on it. They have definitely seen stuff I haven't. The 4 names that come to mind is Nerv, StarvingArtist, Sic, and Elite. I dont' know if they read this thread, so they may not reply in it. However you can always send them a PM, I'm sure they wouldn't mind.

Faluzure, I've been following your post now since you started it, and have always been throughly impressed. In your last group of pics, something caught my eye. I was wondering if I might make a request, I'm intrested in that old church in what appears to be Davoi, it looks really erie, and I think a full screen shot would make a great wallpaper. Once more thank you for all the stuff your doing for others in this game, I know there is alot of NA and JP players that would rather have servers to them self, but after seeing what you do for others, it inspires me to contiue to try and breakthrough the culture gap, and build a friendship that can span the ocean. I appreciate all your doing...Thanks

Thanks man i really appreciate your input. Also, since you are taking requests, i have one that id love to see. Can u find me a lvl 70+ wearing the gods equipment, ex: Suzakus, Genbus, Kirins, etc...Also preferable if the player could be an elf. Thanks.

This has been answered quite a few times, so I'll answer it for Fal. You have to use a third-party program. There are several of them that are commonly used, but the most popular seems to be FRAPS. This is what Faluzure uses. It takes caps of the whole screen, so whatever your computer's resolution is set to, that's how big the pics will be. Just make sure you have plenty of space on your hard drive if you plan on taking a lot of pics; it saves them as .bmp's, and a typical 1024x728 screenshot is 2.2 MBs. Hope this helps. ^^
