This isn't FFXI but I'm trying to learn how to draw better. Anyways here's two little sketcheis that I did. Any suggestions or advice would be helpful. After I can draw better I'll be moving onto FFXI art ^_^. You can see the Mithra I tried to draw on the second page of this section it's still not completed though =<.<=.

Advice: Dont use ruled paper for drawing... sketch sure but no drawing. Gotta show some confidence and draw on a white paper or printer paper or something... hehe :p just have a thing for ruled paper.
Crit: The face somewhat looks to be proportianally correct... but in relation to her body... its twice as big as it should be.
Solution: Smaller head or bigger and broader neck and shoulder.

Aight what you need is like that other guy said use blank or printer paper never use ruled unless if your just sketching something that you will just end up throwing away. Ok first you need to fix the eyes. Make the pupils more straight becuase if you look at them there facing like this >_< :spin: , alright so after that you may want to add some shading that always makes the drawing look alot color. You basically just relate it to how light is hitting the person or thing and just shade in parts that aren't being hit by the sun. Theres alot to tell about drawing  so just message me over aol my screen name is on the profile thing.

Some Advice from a has-been
Ok, some advice? First thing your art teacher would say, let's just say that's me now, is to find a style you like. Albiet Tenchi-Muyo, Rurruni Kenshin, Ah My Goddess, Masamune Shirow, who ever; after you pick the artist you most admire you must start working on emulating their art style.
Take one of your fav pictures from them and try drawing it. At first you will prolly have to surcomb to tracing it. That's ok, even the best artists had to start from the bottom and work their way up. Once you can draw it perfectly (or as close as you want) try doing it without looking at the picture. Your first job is to get your hand use to going where you mind wants it to go. That takes practice, lots of torn up paper, and spilled coke on them. (You might want to cry when that happens, but it's normal, and will enrich your experiance as an artist. But alas, you will never look back on it and laugh, you will always get teary eyed.)
Once you belive you have gotten a 'feel' for their art style it is time to move on to drawing it without having to look at anything for referance. At that point you are usually recomended to try to experament and to create your own style. Some of the times it will be nothing like the style you learned, but it will come alot easyer from the experiance you gained along the way.
Edit: Sorry ^^ Forgot to post a link to some of my art, so you know I am not blowing smoke out my veritable 'buttox'.

Hmmm I'm pretty good with the art style of Neon Geneisis Evangalion, I have this one pic I drew >.> still need to scan it though    I kinda ran out of room when drawing it so there's not that much to see in the pic:sweat:   so I think I'll go with that art style. By the way those are some nice pics there
It's not the great that are strong.
