Heck, if you don't give a crap about considering how much work these people went through to make it, and take it anyway, the least you can do is be decent and give them CREDIT for it...it's so sad to see the work of great artists plastered everywhere on the net, and then every other person claiming "Look! I made this!" -___-;;

btw, go ahead and report it to who ever made it. let him gripe at me too. maybe he can hiss and claw at me as well. blah, the hell with this place. I have had enough of people's complaining, I never took credit for it, I even admitted to have gotten from a desktop.

this would be like me asking you if you got permission from Square to use the mithra model and background for your sig. it took them hard work to create and you don't give them credit. i guess the same concept would apply with people that download music off the internet, your stealing peoples music with out paying for them hence not giving them the credit they should deserve. everyone does it and they don't care, i honostly don't see the point in getting all upset about it. As Balfree said "no one will ever care"

imo for something so unofficial like signatures, I don't think anyone would really mind. It's similar to fan arts/music remix based on the real thing. no profit involved.
It will become a problem if you claim the piece and put it in your portfolio/resume or try to make money with it.

Yes, Takari, please credit The Carpenters for the lyrics in your sig, and the person who made that font-face, and the modelers who made the terrain and the mithra model, and the texture artists who colored them. It's disresepectful for you to use them without permission or at least, for heaven's sake, credit.[/sarcasm]

Seriously, minor infringment like this is just flattery for the artist. Yeah, he made a derivitive work from someone else's art. That's what the dat mod community does every day. It's not really that big a deal.

Now, disclaimer: The consummate artist will make their own background, and it is courteous to get premission or at least credit when borrowing someone else's work. If you do this, good on you. But there's no reason to come down on someone for not doing so, especially in the context of a forum sig. If he'd taken this backround, pasted a render of his character on it, and posted it on deviantart as his own or something, that'd be a whole other matter.

I didn't make my Background either. But I know who did and if anyone asked me where it came from, I'd give them their site. 90% of the signatures you see are a bunch of different peoples art put together to make something cool looking. As was said previously, unless you're gonna give credit to everyone who contributed anything to your signature, stfu.

For the record, great art on your deviant page. I'll make sure not to use it for anything though. lol
