I like the coloring as well, you us photoshop im guessing. The spell effect and background are good looking too.

Painter Classic for the line art, Photoshop for CGing. ^^ Definitely. The background and spell were the easiest to do; Go calculated brush use! ^.^

I have some pretty basic tutorials on my site. ^^ It's really about patience. And getting used to using that Polygonal lasso, you have SO much more control with it!
