    Xbox 360 - Control issue

    Good Evening Ladies and Gents.
    I am new to FFXI but certainly not new to the FF Series.
    I come to you as a humble newbie wishing to learn the ways of this game, as many before me.
    ~
    This...isn't actually a controller issue.
    It's more of a I've-been-playing-for-a-couple-days-and-it's-driving-me-insane issue.
    How do you jump?

      You need to get your basic job to level 30 and unlock Dragoon to be able to jump.
      There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,

          If you are talking jump as in something like a character emote (or Super Mario for that matter) "Push X to jump" there is no jumping of that type in this game. Dragoon has Jump abilities that do damage to the mobs, but other than than that no.


          I'm pretty sure there is a debate somewhere in the forum about why jump isn't in this game.

              you have to be kidding right?.......


              Yes Dragoon is the only job that can "jump" because its a battle ability, no one can jump (aka as in WoW) it was never needed and never will be added to the game.

                  Basically, FFXI was designed without the ability to jump. This occasionally leads to impenetrable waist high fences, but it's a choice between that and ten foot high walls to accomplish the same thing while looking far sillier. Jumping has never been part of the game, so if you encounter something you can't get around, it was intentionally designed to take some going the long way.

                      Yeah...It could be worse though, Jump could be PC version only (PS2 and 360 limitations)

                              In FFXI i do kinda wish you could hop around, and get on some things, and at first i too thought you could jump but after looking through the controls Manuel and macros i found out. but unfortunately you cannot jump as far as FFXI but they may have it in FFXIV but i highly doubt they will. i also think it is funny that those who answered you who have probably played for quite awhile unlike me where as i've been playing less then a year thought you meant the attack lol.
