    I thought it was pretty handy in understanding switching between books for your specific job and using multiple sets to switch to and from. You may already know this if so then umm sorry I got nothing else legally to use.

    This confirmed what I believed to be from the other posters, that you can invoke different macro sets, but there HAS to be a way to call individual macros from a set...think people think lol

      Again, there is none; this would allow for some pretty goddamned easy infinite loops, the most straightforward use being overnight AFK Enhancing/Singing/String/Wind skillups. But I'm sure people could find even worse exploits if they tried.

          Windower.. bleh. I'm all for us being able to use our computers for multiple tasks while we run FFXI, but when a tool starts to allow players to bend/break the rules of gameplay, that's when it loses my support. I suspect this opinion is in the minority.

            Which additional gear-swapping clearly and unmistakably is. Otherwise, why are you bothering to do it at all?

            Truece's idea is interesting, though. I have to admit I hadn't thought of that.

            It might be complicated to combine that with a macro set that already uses page swapping for things like /SCH (separate books for LA and DA), but I think it would be possible. If the pages are identical aside from which gear is in the gear swap macro, then it wouldn't even matter if you got stuck on the wrong one (aside from your gear swap being incomplete).

              If you want to be really technical, additional gear swaps do not break the game's rules, they simply go beyond what a human can do within an allocated time frame.

              Kinda like using a programmable controller in a fighting game to achieve perfect execution. You're not doing combos that the game doesn't allow you to do already, but you sure as hell are performing in a way you normally can't. Of course that doesn't necessarily make it legitimate but there is a difference

                Er, I dunno about that. Windower macros support fractional wait time (e.g. can wait 1.3 seconds between commands), while the build in /wait cannot (anymore?); that looks like adding a feature non-Windower users cannot have access to, in my view.

                If talking about SpellCast, the ability to enact gear swap and activate spell/JA based on trigger conditions is basically flow control (in the programming sense)--in other words, (not so) rudimentary botting.

                Bamboo shadows sweep the stars,
                yet not a mote of dust is stirred;
                Moonlight pierces the depths of the pond,
                leaving no trace in the water.
