  • Forgotten password, but saved.

I have my password saved on my pc, but I want to play on my xbox. However, I have forgotten what it is. And, I am very frustrated because I have waited almost five hours on an "SE Agent" to help to reset it, and still never got any help. I know that the password is saved on the pc, so there must be some way to get the password out of the Playonline program files. Can someone help me out with this?

    Thanks,

    Nick

Nope, if you forgot your password, the best you can do is contact PoL and get it reset.

      Re: Forgotten password, but saved.

      Step 1:
Attach a 6 foot long chain, using what ever method you feel is the most secure, to your xbox 360. Remove the power supply as this dosen't take into account the extra bludgeon effect that would have if still attached. (picture a Flail with another little flail on the end of the first flail)
      Step 2:
Place your PC somewhere in or around fragile valuable objects, like a cat or something.
Step 3: Grasp the chain at the non-xbox360 end and begin a helicopter swing attack (HSA) and then yell something fierce like "IT'S MY PASSWORD AND I WANT IT BACK"
Step 4: (tricky part) Time the Impact of the xbox360 flail to the PC so that the customer support rep from SE know's you mean bussiness.
      Step 5: Reset your password

I can almost guarantee this will work, and it may instantly transfer your old password over to your xbox. Also the cat will be fine.

fixed. if you're going to write down your password, you might as well just use your name or phone number for all the security it will provide.

Well Feba, not all of us are blessed with an iron trap for a brain. There is a little notebook on my desktop that contains all the names of websites I have accounts with along with my user name and password for each. There you go people, break into my house and have at it!!

Feba - I'm almost sure the OP means he opted to have his password saved by POL, which means he hasn't actually typed in that password in so long there's no way he would remember it. It's not actually physically written down somewhere, he's just asking for a way to get POL to cough up the saved password, which is something he won't have much luck with.

I'm not very good at remembering things either, but writing down passwords leads to trouble. Haven't you people ever seen WarGames? Using a password manager isn't nearly as bad an idea, or even just an encrypted text file. Remembering one password is easier than a dozen, and it's better to have your passwords with some protection.

There are a lot of useful strategies out there for coming up with very secure passwords which are easy to remember, and I strongly suggest googling them. Beyond P@$$w0rd, too.

Sorry for bumping a dead topic but I'm having the same issue and I'm wondering if the number of * in the saved password field is the same as the number in your password or if they just use that as a filler and it can be any length between 8 and 15

                      Re: Forgotten password, but saved.

You only see 8 unless u scroll the rest so in this case for u there's 11 if ur password is 11 letters long.

I recently forgot my password and so i tried counting the * to help me remember what it might be, unfortunately i couldn't figure it out and i had to do the nightmarish thing that is Square-Enix Customer Support's and phone it in.
