  • Keyboard Problems

So I just went to hell and back to get FFXI to work on my Inspiron 1525 with Vista (It was a BITCH), but now I've got a different problem: I need to set my control scheme to "compact" because my laptop lacks a numpad and all that. Note that I can't access the menu in game because I don't have the - key typically found in the corner of the numpad.

Any way to circumvent this (like an auxillary menu command in game or a way to change it from outside the program)?

Take a very close look at your keyboard. It has a Fn key. Now look at your keyboard even closer. (Hint, there is a keypad there)

Alternatively, read the owners manual that came with your Laptop.
I use a Mac because I'm just better than you are.

Failing that, you do have a normal (non numpad) - key, and using Ctrl or Alt with that will also bring up the main menu.
